Why Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu in Gogi-dong, Yongin was the pick after a business trip
I asked my brother, who'd just gotten back from a business trip abroad that lasted over two weeks, what he wanted to eat the second he landed in Korea, and he said shabu-shabu — happy haha!!! Shabu-shabu is my absolute favorite food, and it turns out he's fallen for it too?!! Bro is fully converted +_+ hooray hooray hooray
As someone who's basically obsessed with shabu-shabu, this is already my third time eating it this week hahaha. I never get tired of it no matter how many times I eat it. Plus it's got vegetables and meat. Plus it's a healthy meal. And yet it's delicious hahaha shabu-shabu is the best
Today I went to Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu Gogidong Branch, a well-known spot in Suji! It's a place I can drive to without worrying about parking, so I end up going about once every 1-2 months haha

Where to park at Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu Gogidong Branch
There's parking space right in front of the restaurant, and if it's full on a weekday, you can park on the roadside where the school zone restriction has been lifted. On weekends and holidays, there's Pureuni Daycare Center right across the street from this Suji favorite — you can park there!
Today there was a parking spot right in front of the restaurant! Lucky vicky~ Some days there's a wait, but today there was none >_< nailed the timing!

Yun Ujae opening hours and weekday break time
Business hours are 11:10 AM to 8:50 PM! Weekday break time is 3:00 to 4:30 PM, with no break time on weekends or holidays! Last order was at 8:50 PM~

Spicy shabu-kalguksu for two at 11,500 won each, plus sirloin and flat noodle add-ons
As always, we started with the spicy shabu-kalguksu for two, spice level set to medium red. Gotta have the signature dish, oh yes~ Sirloin (70g) + vegetables and mushrooms + house-made kalguksu noodles + fried rice, all for ₩11,500 per person! Such reasonable prices for a Suji favorite, agreed agreed
We ordered two servings, added 140g of extra sirloin, and since the flat kalguksu noodles were so good last time, we added a serving of those too today~

Inside Yun Ujae: seating and atmosphere
The interior is spacious, tables have good spacing, and there's a private area with a bit of a room-like vibe! It seemed like a mix of families and couples visiting~

I loved that they gave us spoons and chopsticks that had been sanitized in hot water!
Our shabu-shabu, so satisfying. Spicy shabu-shabu, love it. That hot red broth is the best~ As a minari (water dropwort) lover, I adore shabu-shabu with minari in it haha. Shabu-shabu without minari makes me sad ㅠㅡㅠ

How far 280g of sirloin goes for two
70g sirloin x 2 servings plus a 140g add-on comes to 280g worth of meat~ We ate our fill of meat without any shortage haha

Why to add the flat kalguksu noodles at Yun Ujae
You can choose regular kalguksu noodles, or a combo of flat kalguksu plus regular noodles — we went with the latter and added extra flat kalguksu on top. Back in the day the flat noodle strands used to come connected and staff would tear them off for you, but now they come pre-cut so you can just add as much as you want, whenever you want~ Much more convenient to add them in as you please~
The flat kalguksu is honestly the real kick...! You spread a layer on top, wrap it around meat, vegetables and mushrooms, and it's basically a flat-noodle wrap (?) hahaha. Anyway, genuinely delicious!!! Highly, highly, highly recommend selecting flat kalguksu as an option +_+

Course three at Yun Ujae: the fried rice
Gotta finish it off with round-three fried rice~~ Adding cheese makes it good too, but today we'd put all our energy into the flat kalguksu, so we kept the fried rice simple-is-best!

The kimchi worth a refill
This place also does great kimchi +_+ good enough that we refilled it — that's how you know it's legit. It's slightly spicy, which makes it even better with the kalguksu!

Today we also ordered a cola haha
So delicious,, this is my third shabu-shabu this week and I feel like I could eat it again tomorrow hahaha. Attempting 4 shabu-shabu meals in a week...?

I think I could honestly eat shabu-shabu every day hahaha. I love shabu-shabu

It had been a while since I ate shabu-shabu with my brother (thanks to his business trips), and eating something delicious together made it even tastier and happier~ Hope you all spend a healing weekend eating good food with good people >_< happy weekend! bounce~
