Yongin kalguksu restaurant with foot-kneaded noodles: Yun Ujae
In short
Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu Gogidong Branch is a house-made flat kalguksu (knife-cut noodle) and spicy shabu-shabu restaurant in Gogi-dong, Suji-gu, Yongin. The noodle dough is kneaded by foot, the kimchi is made daily from Korean cabbage using a recipe passed down from a Mokpo kimchi master, and Australian S-grade beef is cooked in a spicy red broth, with an indoor waiting area where guests can read the menu and order ahead. After one meal, the line that forms outside Yun Ujae every day makes complete sense.

I heard there's a shabu-shabu spot in Suji, Yongin where waiting is basically the default, so I went to check it out 🫧✨ Have you ever driven past Gogi-ri in Yongin and seen the long line at a shabu-shabu place every single day?
"Why on earth do so many people line up here every day?" I always wondered...
This time I finally visited the place everyone's been talking about — Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu Gogidong Branch...! And after going, I totally got it.
From the chewiness of the foot-kneaded noodles to the kimchi made fresh daily with a Mokpo master's recipe,
it's clear why this place always has a wait! Let me break down my visit for you >_< ✨
Where is Yun Ujae Shabu Kalguksu in Gogi-dong, and what are the hours?
📍Address: 경기 용인시 수지구 고기로173번길 3 1층 (지번: 동천동 67-1) 🕚 Hours: Mon–Sun 11:00–20:50 (last order 20:00) ☑️ Weekday break time: 15:00–16:30 (no break time on weekends/holidays!)
There's a wide dedicated parking lot right in front of the restaurant, so you can park easily without any worries 🚗

Amenities: 🅿️ Large dedicated lot in front of the store, indoor waiting area, baby chairs, group seating, takeout/delivery available ⭐️ It's located near the entrance to Gogi-ri Recreation Area in Yongin, so it's also a great drive-to spot from Bundang, Pangyo, and Dongtan ⭐️

How the wait works: indoor waiting area and ordering ahead
We had to wait when we arrived too, of course. Luckily, one side of the restaurant has a really well set-up waiting area, so it wasn't boring at all and we could wait comfortably. You could really feel the owner's thoughtfulness!

While waiting in the lounge, staff show you the menu and take your order in advance!
White-toned interior and baby chairs at Yun Ujae
It didn't feel like a typical shabu-shabu or kalguksu place at all — ✨I noticed a clean, tidy white-toned interior that felt more like a lovely aesthetic café! The tables are spaced generously and the place is kept really clean, so it's perfect not just for date nights but for family meals too.
⭐️ Baby chairs are well stocked too, so parents visiting with young kids can eat comfortably! 👶🏻✨

Kimchi made daily from a Mokpo master's recipe

I heard the owner personally sought out kimchi masters all around the country and learned a special recipe from a kimchi expert(?) in Mokpo — and they make it fresh every day using Korean cabbage!?!
Spicy red broth with Australian S-grade beef

Finally, the spicy red broth arrived in its earthenware pot,

I heard they only use recently butchered Australian S-grade beef for the shabu-shabu.
