Where is Magic & Joy Gwanggyo, the kids' magic theater in Suwon?

Mirinae Magic & Joy Gwanggyo is on the 10th floor of Galleria Gwanggyo, right next to CGV. You need to book ahead through Naver Reservation. Today I want to write about our weekend trip to the Suwon children's magic show (Mirinae Magic & Joy). When you're raising kids, deciding what to do on weekends is always the hardest part. We were once again stuck between going to a kids' café or some kind of experience center, when we happened to find out there was a magic show venue inside Galleria Gwanggyo, so we decided to visit.

Booking a magic kit ticket and free entry for under-36-months

If you check Naver Reservation for Magic & Joy Gwanggyo, you can pick from three showtimes: 11am, 2pm, and 4pm. There are two types of children's tickets — one with a magic kit included and one without. Since my older son loves playing with magic tools, we chose the kit-included ticket, and since our second child is under 36 months, he got in free! We also added two guardian admission tickets and made our booking.

Photo zone and hands-on activities in the waiting area

There was a bit of waiting time before the show started, but it wasn't just sitting around bored — there were things to see, a photo zone, and hands-on activities scattered around, so the wait was fun too.

We sat on the cute star-shaped cushions, and off to the side there were magician's hats, wigs, and toys to touch, try on, and take photos with. It was right up the kids' alley.

Entering the theater and finding the restrooms

The door to the Magic & Joy theater is to the right of where you pick up your tickets. We played around wondering, where's the show going to happen? and thought the waiting area itself was the theater — but actually the theater entrance is to the right of the ticket counter, haha. People were already seated inside, so we hurried to find our seats too. The restroom is inside the CGV theater, so I recommend going beforehand.

As we sat down, my second son kept trying to get up and leave because it was dark and scary, and I was breaking a sweat — but right then the curtain swooshed open, and I could finally relax. ✨The magician appears✨ Lately I've gotten so used to watching reels and shorts on my phone. Watching a live show in person felt so thrilling, like a real dopamine hit, haha. Thanks to my kids, here I am past thirty watching a magic show — I'm grateful.

Audience participation and the pigeon trick that hooked my younger son

I think I've watched about three magic shows in my life, and what I loved about this Gwanggyo Suwon kids' magic show was how well the magician communicated with the audience. There were so many chances to actually join the stage. Watching with their own eyes and getting to experience it firsthand seems like it'll be a really great experience for the kids.

My second son surprised me by staying focused the whole time, haha — especially during the pigeon trick, he couldn't take his eyes off it. Magic really is amazing every time, even for a mom...

When parents get called up on stage

Partway through, a father who'd come with his daughter was called up onstage to take part in a trick directly. Once a guardian who'd only been watching from the audience became the star of the magic themselves, the kids' interest grew even more, haha. As the trick unfolded in sync with the magician, the audience kept laughing and applauding — and I won't forget how the daughter cheered on her dad as he went up on stage. I found myself thinking, next time it'll be mom going up there!! 😊

The magic kit gift and how the magician explains it

As the Suwon Gwanggyo kids' magic show was wrapping up, the magician had a surprise gift — we'd already requested a magic kit ticket, but getting one more as a gift meant my older son couldn't stop smiling. It was great that they showed the kids how to use it right there on the spot.

Verdict on the 50-minute show, photo time and parking

By the time the Magic & Joy Gwanggyo show ended, the 50 minutes felt like they'd flown by. Both grown-ups and kids stayed engaged without a dull moment, and the real-time interaction between the magician and the audience is what I think I'll remember most. My older son usually doesn't smile much, but today he had a smile on his face all day.

After the show you can take a photo time with the magician, so don't head straight home — wait around and be sure to get a photo. For parking, show your ticket at CGV and they'll register 3 hours free, so keep that in mind✔️
