Suwon Starfield café for a low-acidity decaf iced americano: Jeong

I went shopping at Suwon Starfield a while back haha. Starfield is so massive that after wandering around shopping for a while, your legs start hurting and your throat gets dry at some point. So I stopped by Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch for a quick rest mid-shopping. There are so many different cafés inside Suwon Starfield, but this time I wanted to properly rest somewhere with good coffee.

Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters Starfield Suwon Branch is located near the 2nd floor food court area of Suwon Starfield. If you're browsing around the food court, you'll spot it right away, so accessibility was pretty good. It's a good spot to grab a coffee and rest when you get thirsty from shopping, so it seems like a solid pick for anyone looking for a Suwon Starfield café. Especially since Starfield is so huge that you need breaks here and there while shopping, it was easy to naturally stop by while shopping on the 2nd floor haha.

Going inside the store, there were more seats than I expected. Since it's a café inside Starfield with lots of shoppers, I thought seating might be tight, but there was plenty of space to sit and rest with a coffee. It's good for sitting down when your legs hurt from shopping, and it also seemed like a nice spot to chat over coffee with friends or family after shopping together. I'd been shopping for quite a while that day and my legs were sore, but once I ordered a coffee and sat down, it felt so comfortable lol.

Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters had a wide variety of coffee options. Along with basic coffee menu items like americano and latte, there were plenty of other drinks to choose from.

They also had quite a variety of desserts to go with coffee. When I visited, I saw cookies, madeleines, fig cake, Basque cheesecake, and fig sando. Since it's fig season right now, dessert items made with figs really stood out haha. If you like figs, the fig cake or fig sando would be worth trying together. It seems like a good pick when you're craving something sweet with your coffee mid-shopping.

Since I'd already had lunch before visiting, I kept it simple with just coffee that day. I ordered two drinks: an iced americano decaf and an iced latte. The drinks came out pretty quickly after ordering, so it was nice not having to wait long.

How the decaf iced americano tastes

The iced americano decaf that I really enjoyed! Honestly, I tend to hesitate a bit when ordering decaf coffee at cafés. There are quite a few places where decaf ends up tasting or smelling disappointing compared to regular coffee. But the decaf americano at Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters was way better than I expected. I could really taste the bean aroma, and it wasn't overly acidic, which I don't like, so it was easy to drink without any hesitation.

After the first sip I was like, "Oh? This is decaf and it's actually tasty!" lol

How the iced latte tastes

The iced latte I ordered alongside was also good. The latte had a nice nutty flavor, and the milk and coffee blended together smoothly. Personally I like lattes with a nutty style, and this one suited my taste well. The americano is great for a clean, refreshing drink and the latte is smooth and nutty, so you can pick based on your preference.

I'd heard that Jeong Jiyeong Coffee Roasters is famous as a spot with great beans, and after drinking the coffee myself, I understood why haha. The decaf americano was my favorite that day in particular. It didn't have that typical disappointing decaf taste, the bean aroma was great, and the acidity wasn't excessive, so I was pretty satisfied. It felt like stumbling onto a coffee gem while just out shopping at Starfield! If I come back to shop at Suwon Starfield again, I think I'll stop by here again.
