Interior that feels like Japan, plus the terrace seats

Wait, is this Japan?.. The moment you step in, it really feels like a real izakaya in Japan.

From the lighting to the tables to the little decor pieces, everything comes together so well that this isn't just a place to eat and leave — you can properly enjoy the atmosphere too!!
And there's even a terrace — on a cool evening like this, skewers and a drink out there would be absolutely perfect!!!
What we ordered: four dishes by table ordering

The menu is really varied, right? Ordering is done through table-order!
- Assorted skewers
- Beef tongue tataki
- Wagyu tataki
- Half-and-half baby crab + freshwater shrimp crackers
This is what we ordered! Spoiler: total menu-picking success.

A quail egg konjac side dish came out first, and the seasoning was spot on — one bite in and I already knew this place would be good!!
7 assorted skewers and the hot-plate flame show
🔥 Assorted skewers

The assorted skewers come as a random selection of 7 types — tomato bacon roll, chicken neck, ginkgo nut skewer, beef skewer, and more. Genuinely... not a single miss. So good it's ridiculous...
And when you order skewers, they do a flame show on the hot plate 🔥 It's not just fun to watch — the skewers actually pick up a proper smoky char that brings the flavor to life. Real fire flavor.
With so much variety, it's fun to pick one at a time, and it paired amazingly well as a drinking snack. If it's your first time at this Nonhyeon Station bar, Gobusi, definitely try the assorted skewers!!
Beef tongue tataki and wagyu tataki with perilla leaves
🥩 Beef tongue tataki & wagyu tataki

Honest confession: I misclicked while ordering and ended up ordering both beef tongue tataki and wagyu tataki. But it worked out for the best — I got to try both.
Both the beef tongue tataki and the wagyu tataki were incredibly tender, and the meat itself had great flavor. Eating them wrapped in thinly sliced perilla leaves is basically heaven..
The soft texture of the meat plus the perilla aroma just kept me reaching for more. When the food first arrived I thought, "Can we really finish all this?" Why did I even worry — it was so good we cleared the plate in no time. Past me deserves a round of applause for that misclick.
The extra order: half baby crab, half freshwater shrimp crackers
🦀 Baby crab + freshwater shrimp crackers, half and half

After all that eating, we still ended up ordering more. Half-and-half baby crab and freshwater shrimp crackers! I mean, if even this is going to be delicious, what am I supposed to do... my hand just kept reaching for more.
Crispy on the first bite and nuttier the more you chew it — that perfect crispy-savory combo. Even though I was already pretty full, having it sitting on the table meant I kept picking off pieces one by one. Absolutely perfect as a drinking snack! We ended up polishing this off too!!
Is Gobusi Nonhyeon Branch worth a visit?
Sponsorship aside, this was a place I genuinely wanted to tell you all about today. I was seriously, seriously surprised at how good it was. There are plenty of izakayas with a nice atmosphere, but this place delivered on the food itself, not just the vibes!
From the assorted skewers to the beef tongue tataki, wagyu tataki, to the fritters — nothing we ordered this time was a miss. If anything, that just made me more curious about the rest of the menu.
The menu is so varied that I want to come back and try everything I didn't get to this time!!! If you're looking for a Nonhyeon Station bar that nails both the atmosphere and the food — for a date, drinks with friends, or a group gathering — I recommend this place!
Looking for the best izakaya near Nonhyeon Station? Try Gobusi 🔥 I'll be back to try more of the menu. Went searching for a real hidden gem in Nonhyeon. Gobusi gets my seal of approval.
