Geumdeungeo Deulanguil Main Branch is a grilled mackerel restaurant on the 2nd floor of 57 Deulan-ro, Suseong-gu, Daegu, and parking here is genuinely easy! There's both ground parking and tower parking, plus someone on hand to help you park, so it was really convenient.

Geumdeungeo is a well-known grilled mackerel spot and Korean restaurant in Suseong-gu — it's always busy, weekday or weekend, so I'd recommend booking ahead! Since I made a reservation and ordered, I was seated right away.

What is the seating like for family and group meals?

The seating at Geumdeungeo Deulanguil Main Branch is really spacious and comfortable — a great spot for family meals and gatherings! I'd really recommend this Deulanguil restaurant for family meals in Suseong-gu. The seats are clean and the tables are wide, making for a great dining experience!

There are lots of 4-seat tables and plenty of 6-seat tables too, so it's a great pick for family meals in Suseong-gu! It's already famous as a Korean restaurant in Suseong-gu.

There's also separated seating, perfect for gatherings! Definitely recommend it as a meeting spot in Suseong-gu ^_^!!

Plenty of high chairs are on hand too, making this a great Deulanguil restaurant in Suseong-gu for family gatherings haha.

Geumdeungeo menu and prices

Geumdeungeo's main menu items are grilled mackerel, stir-fried pork, and cockle salad! The banchan (side dishes) here are also really tasty, and you could buy them separately. I ordered grilled mackerel (₩19,000) for two and stir-fried pork (₩20,000) for one.

Self-serve banchan refills and dessert at Geumdeungeo

At Geumdeungeo Deulanguil Main Branch, all the banchan can be refilled at the self-serve bar, and you can even watch the mackerel being grilled fresh over the wood fire there! The self-serve bar was kept really clean ^_^

For dessert there were also iced cups, juice, and coffee neatly set out, so you can enjoy dessert afterward too ^_^

It's an order-at-entry system! Additional orders could be placed via the tablet at the table. The staff were really kind too, which made the meal really comfortable!

The spoons and chopsticks came individually sealed, which I really liked haha.

Mallow soybean paste soup and the full banchan spread

After ordering grilled mackerel (₩19,000) for two and stir-fried pork (₩20,000) for one, the table filled up with mouthwatering banchan — such a great Deulanguil restaurant! These are homemade-tasting side dishes that even parents love, making it perfect for a family gathering in Suseong-gu.

The mallow soybean paste soup (aeuk doenjang guk) also came out generously, and the broth was so rich that this alone could make a meal ^_^

Sukbakji (young radish kimchi), lotus root salad, seaweed salad, green onion kimchi, braised anchovies, bellflower root salad, and more — a Deulanguil Korean restaurant full of homemade flavor ^_^

Refreshing salad, savory japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), and even gopchang gim (seasoned laver)~!! The banchan here are so good, it's a great place to bring your parents!

Wood-fired grilled mackerel, 19,000 won, with nuruk salt

Grilled mackerel (₩19,000) for two — Geumdeungeo's signature dish and Suseong-gu favorite!! It comes freshly grilled over the wood fire as soon as you order — savory, with the oil beautifully drained away!!

It comes with nuruk salt (fermented rice malt salt), which is good for you and adds umami without being too salty!!

The grilled mackerel looks mouthwatering just to look at!! No need to pick out bones either, so it's easy to eat and really generous in size!

With the oil well drained, it's wonderfully savory, crispy outside and moist inside!! Delicious grilled mackerel that's hard to make at home!! I got to enjoy it at this Deulanguil restaurant!

Flame-grilled spicy pork, 20,000 won, closer to 1.5 servings

Stir-fried pork (₩20,000) for one! Besides grilled fish, Geumdeungeo Deulanguil Main Branch also serves great stir-fried pork! It's fire-grilled, so it's spicy and good, good!

Spicy stir-fried pork with crunchy onions and perilla leaves! The portion was fairly generous too — felt like about 1.5 servings!! Totally the kind of fire-grilled stir-fried pork that makes you eat extra rice haha.

Is Geumdeungeo Deulanguil worth a visit?

A Korean restaurant in Suseong-gu where you can enjoy neatly prepared banchan and delicious grilled mackerel!
