Busan kalguksu restaurant for four: three bossam sets, Sinseon Myeonga
In short
Sinseon Myeonga is a house-made kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) restaurant in Yeonsan-dong, Yeonje-gu, Busan. A family of four ordered anchovy kalguksu, sujebi (hand-torn dough soup) and octopus bibimbap, all as tasting-bossam sets from 11,900 won, and every set arrived with its own platter of bossam (boiled pork wraps), so three bowls were more than the four of them could finish. With on-site parking and complimentary sundae (blood sausage) and sikhye (sweet rice drink), Sinseon Myeonga is an easy choice for a family meal out with kids.

Hi everyone, it's Chaechae Mom 🐣 This weekend the whole family — me, Chaechae Dad, and the Chaechae siblings — went to Yeonsan-dong! Today I'm bringing you a review of Sinseon Myeonga, a kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) place that's known as a Yeonsan-dong go-to.
Free sundae before the order was even placed
Sinseon Myeonga is a Yeonsan-dong kalguksu restaurant that serves you complimentary sundae (Korean blood sausage) as soon as you sit down. We'd literally just sat down, and before we'd even ordered, they brought out free sundae 😳
I said, 'Wait, we didn't order this...' haha, and they said it just comes automatically hahahaha. The moment I ate one piece of sundae I thought, 'Oh, we came to the right place' haha. This place had a good feeling from the start!

Inside Sinseon Myeonga: kiosk ordering and an open kitchen

There's a menu banner standing outside the restaurant, so it was easy to find. Inside, every table has its own kiosk where you order yourself. Photos and prices are all shown, so picking was easy haha.
The owner was born in Yeonsan-dong and still lives there. It's a self-made-noodle kalguksu specialty restaurant where the dough is kneaded and the noodles cut fresh every day, and the bibimbap and sauces are all homemade too. The open kitchen makes it feel even more trustworthy 👍 Near the entrance there was an ice bucket full of cold sikhye (sweet rice drink) cans.

"Please take just one per person~" ㅠㅠ...such a thoughtful touch haha. We each grabbed one on our way out 🥤

What the family ordered: three tasting-bossam sets

We ordered all three as tasting-bossam sets! Anchovy kalguksu, sujebi, and octopus bibimbap.
✔ Anchovy kalguksu
The broth is clear and clean. The kids ate it well too haha.
✔ Sujebi
The noodles are wide and chewy haha. Since they're fresh dough made in-house, you can definitely tell the difference! It was fun slurping it up.
✔ Tasting bossam

Each set comes with a whole platter of bossam like this. We ended up with three servings' worth hahaha.
It comes with tofu, and the meat was so tender it was perfect for wrapping. This is supposed to be just a 'tasting' portion? It's actually quite a lot haha.
✔ Octopus bibimbap
There's octopus in a spicy sauce, plus a generous pile of bean sprouts, vegetables, and lettuce. Mixing it all up and taking a spoonful, it was so spicy and good it disappeared fast 🔥
👨👩👧👦 Chaechae Mom's review: three bowls, leftovers for four

The portions here are seriously huge. Four of us ordered three bowls and we still had leftovers ㅜㅜ Ordering the sets means bossam comes along too, so you leave really full.
The Chaechae siblings ate the kalguksu and sujebi well, and Chaechae Dad kept picking away at everything from the sundae to the bossam haha. Parking was easy too, so it was great to bring the kids. If you're looking for a good restaurant in Yeonsan-dong or a family dinner spot near Yeonsan Station, I recommend this place!
💡 Chaechae Mom's one-line verdict on Sinseon Myeonga
"The complimentary sundae is touching, but the portion sizes are even more touching — a Yeonsan-dong kalguksu spot where you can order three bowls and still have leftovers haha."
