Jeju Dongmun Market traditional snack shop: last-day bulk oranda haul

Today I'm sharing a spot that's basically a must-stop on the last day of any Jeju trip — picking up gifts for family and friends. Here's my review of Cheongchuni Oranda in Jeju's Dongmun Market!

Where is Cheongchuni Oranda in Dongmun Market, and what are its hours?

Whenever I come to Jeju, I usually end up buying the same kind of snacks — Maeum sandwiches, chocolates, tangerine desserts — so I went looking for something a little different and tastier. That's how I found this oranda specialty shop in Dongmun Market. You can find Cheongchuni Oranda right away if you come in through gate 2 or gate 9 of Dongmun Market :)

Cheongchuni Oranda is a traditional cracker shop run by young Jeju locals putting their heart into it, and it's already famous as a go-to spot for Jeju souvenirs and gift sets — apparently you can buy it at both Dongmun Market and Olle Market!

Seems like I found a real gem — there was even a short wait! Lots of young people were buying it as Jeju travel gifts too >.<

Which oranda and gwajul flavors does Cheongchuni Oranda sell?

Cheongchuni Oranda sells a really wide range of traditional crackers, from white rice gwajul to yakgwa (honey cookie). The oranda case had five flavors on display: yuzu, nut, gamtae (seaweed), mareung (garlic), and Udo peanut.

The oranda lineup was really varied — yuzu oranda, nut oranda, gamtae oranda, mareung oranda, and Udo peanut oranda, five flavors in total on sale :)

On top of that, there were colorful, cute donut oranda too, so many varieties that they'd make a perfect gift!

How much is the oranda gift set? 23,000 won

They also sell a separate gift package — the oranda gift set is ₩23,000. The packaging was clean and so cute that I thought it'd make a great Jeju travel souvenir :)

What I bought after tasting: nut and garlic oranda in bulk

Before buying, the owner recommended trying a sample first, so I tasted yuzu, nut, and mareung flavors, then bought nut and mareung oranda in bulk form!

I also noticed other customers all buying the gwajul set, so I got one too — white rice, brown rice, buckwheat, and steamed rice gwajul, four flavors in one set, which made for such a great mix :) Since I was going to share it with family at home, I skipped the gift packaging and just went with the generous bulk option — a great-value Jeju souvenir. When I brought it home, my dad said it was delicious and ate it happily!

How the oranda tasted, and why it makes a good Jeju souvenir

Cheongchuni Oranda satisfied on both taste and packaging, and I think it makes a great gift too :) I kept buying the same kind of souvenirs every Jeju trip, so I was glad to find something a bit different this time.

Compared to the oranda I remembered from before, it wasn't uncomfortably hard — it was crisp and sweet, perfect for snacking one piece at a time! I especially liked being able to browse the many varieties and pick according to taste. If you're wrapping up a Jeju trip and wondering what to get family or friends at Dongmun Market, I'd recommend trying Cheongchuni Oranda instead of the usual souvenirs :)
