Kimchi stew as anju at an Icheon Terminal BBQ: Jeongsiljangne Ppalgan

In short

Jeongsiljangne Ppalgan Gogi is a gochujang-marinated Korean BBQ restaurant in the food alley by Icheon Terminal in Gyeonggi. Over drinks with a friend, the writer ordered spicy raw pork belly and spicy pork neck patties plus kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) and bibimbap, and the kimchi jjigae worked as an anju (drinking snack) even without rice while the bibimbap ended in an empty bowl. With a spotless dining room and an egg roll served as a free side, Jeongsiljangne Ppalgan Gogi is an easy pick for pork belly and soju near Icheon Terminal.

Where is Jeongsiljangne Ppalgan Gogi in the Icheon Terminal food alley, and what are its hours?

I went looking for a good grill restaurant near Icheon Terminal and ended up at Jeongsiljangne Ppalgan Gogi! It's in the food alley right around the terminal, so it's easy to get to, and it has just the right vibe for a light evening of meat and drinks — I was already looking forward to it before going, and the place turned out to be much cleaner than I expected, which I really liked.

What is the dining room like at Jeongsiljangne Ppalgan Gogi?

The thing I noticed as soon as I walked in was that the tables were genuinely gleaming.

Neatly maintained grill table and hotplate

Grill restaurants usually make you a bit wary of grease on the tables and surroundings, but Jeongsiljangne Ppalgan Gogi clearly keeps the whole place spotless. Because of that, just sitting down already put me in a good mood!

The egg roll that comes free as a side dish

The basic banchan (side dishes) were clean and tasty too, which tells me the owner has real skill in the kitchen. Personally, I loved the egg roll so much, ㅠㅠ. They actually sell it as a menu item, but they still bring out a small portion of it as a free side dish. It's such a small thing but it made me so happy. Eating soft egg roll alongside the meat was the perfect drinking combo!

What are spicy raw pork belly and spicy pork neck patties?

That day we ordered spicy raw pork belly, spicy meat patties, bibimbap, and kimchi jjigae. The spicy meat patties are made from pork neck! The patties come frozen, while the pork belly is fresh, raw meat.

The spicy raw pork belly, whose name alone made me curious, looked appetizing even before it hit the grill, and once it was grilled the combination of meat and marinade was really good — spicy but with plenty of savory depth, so it was delicious even on its own, and even more so as a drinking snack! The spicy meat patties were also a nice surprise. And of course, no meal here would be complete without kimchi jjigae and bibimbap!

Does the kimchi jjigae work as an anju without rice?

When you order kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) at a grill restaurant, people usually save it for eating with rice at the end, but Jeongsiljangne Ppalgan Gogi's kimchi jjigae was good enough that I kept reaching for it just as an anju (drinking snack).

나물이 들어간 비빔밥 한 그릇

We had the kimchi jjigae together with the bibimbap, and wow… even the vegetables mixed into the bibimbap were so tasty. My friend and I said this bibimbap would be perfect after a night of drinking, and we ended up finishing every last bite, haha.

Worth it for pork belly and soju near Icheon Terminal?

After the meat, a spoonful of the spicy broth cleared my palate completely, so of course another glass of soju followed, haha. More than anything, the owner and staff were so kind that the whole meal felt pleasant. The food is great, but friendly staff really make a restaurant stick in your memory. With a clean interior overall, tasty red-marinated meat dishes, and great anju for drinking, this feels like a solid pick for anyone looking for good food near Icheon Terminal. If you're around Icheon Terminal and want pork belly with soju, it's worth a visit — a grill restaurant in Icheon that's worth stopping by.

Table set with spicy raw pork belly and soju

If you order the full spread like we did — spicy raw pork belly, spicy meat patties, kimchi jjigae, and bibimbap — plus the egg roll on the side, the soju will really flow! It's a great Icheon grill restaurant for a relaxed meal with delicious meat in a clean setting — Jeongsiljangne Ppalgan Gogi, a pork belly spot I think I'll remember the next time I'm in Icheon :) Recommended!
