There's always that random day when Chinese food just hits you out of nowhere, haha. That day came for me, and after some deliberation I ended up at Lala Dragon — let me introduce this Ssangyong-dong, Cheonan restaurant.

Where is Lala Dragon Cheonan Ssangyong Branch, and where do you park?

  • 📍 Address: 155 Chungmu-ro, Seobuk-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea, 1st floor
  • ⏰ Hours: 11:00–22:00 / Last order 21:30
  • 🅿 Parking: Street parking in front, or the underground lot behind the building
Building's underground parking lot leading toward the restaurant entrance

Most Chinese restaurants only have surface parking, but here the building's underground lot was huge, which was great. Even when street parking was full I didn't have to worry at all. A restaurant with real parking is always a plus!!! 👍

After parking with zero hassle, I took the elevator up to the 1st floor where Lala Dragon is. It's near the E-mart in Ssangyong-dong, so I'd walked past it many times, but this was actually my first time visiting!

Inside Lala Dragon: room for groups and families with babies

The inside of Lala Dragon was more spacious and comfortable than I expected. Tables can be pushed together easily so it works for groups, and there were plenty of high chairs too — this felt like a Chinese restaurant that works well even with a baby in tow!

Here's the menu board at Lala Dragon Cheonan. It was neatly sorted by category and easy to read. I liked being able to look it over comfortably and then order through the tablet at the table~

There were various 1-person and 2-person set menus, and you could customize the options inside to your taste~ I also liked that there's a well-priced kids' menu for children age 8 and under.

They were also running various review events, which was great since you can get extra sides just by writing a review! Wang mandu (large dumplings), cola, jjamppong broth, jimagu and more — just write a quick review and you can try them!!!

35,000 won for two: what we ordered at Lala Dragon

After some deliberation, we ordered the pork loin tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) set with jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), plus crab fried rice! We added a drink on top, and the whole thing came to just ₩35,000. Pretty reasonable pricing for a Ssangyong-dong favorite, right?~

Pickled radish served as the basic setting
Self-serve bar with kimchi, raw onion, and chunjang

After ordering, the basic setting is just pickled radish, so if you want kimchi, raw onion or chunjang (black bean sauce) too, you go get them yourself from the self-serve bar! The self-serve bar was kept impeccably clean too.

Lala Dragon Cheonan notes that all dishes are cooked fresh to order so it can take a bit of time, but luckily it wasn't too busy when we went, so the food came out quickly — great news for us hungry folks! The spread that came out looked so appetizing~

How is the crab fried rice?

My pick was the crab fried rice — you could tell at a glance it was fluffy and separate-grained, topped with glossy jjajang (black bean) sauce, and it came with jjamppong broth on the side too.

Trying it, the fluffiness really came through, and I loved the texture of biting into separate rice grains! There was a generous amount of crab meat inside too, haha. And since this is a jjamppong specialist, even just the broth on the side was the perfect finishing touch — it made me want to order a full bowl of jjamppong.

And the tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) — they must use very clean oil because it looked pale and incredibly appetizing! Paired with the shredded onion on top, it was perfect!

Not overly crispy, with a nice chewy texture and tender meat inside — it was perfect! My boyfriend, who's a real tangsuyuk connoisseur, praised it too. This is a tangsuyuk anyone, young or old, would enjoy!!!

Tangsuyuk served with dipping sauces
The spicy rose-colored special tangsuyuk sauce

And Lala Dragon Ssangyong-dong has one more kicker for their tangsuyuk: the variety of dipping sauces. Beyond the basic sauce, two more come with it — especially this rose-colored one, which is a little spicy? It even tastes a bit like Shin Ramyun Tumbao — dipping the pork in it was a real treat!

The signature Dragon jjamppong

Lastly, what I'd call Lala Dragon's signature dish: Dragon jjamppong~ Even from the photo you can tell how thick and rich it looks, right? A perfectly spicy-savory broth that makes this jjamppong the best!

The noodles were just the right thickness and cooked perfectly, so my chopsticks kept going back for more without pause! The meat, seafood, and vegetables inside were all fresh with nothing missing, which added to the charm of the jjamppong, haha.

Is Lala Dragon in Cheonan worth a visit?

If you're looking for a clean, delicious Chinese restaurant in Cheonan, I genuinely recommend Lala Dragon in Ssangyong-dong — it also has plenty of parking!!!! If you go, definitely order the tangsuyuk and jjamppong — they're the standouts here...! That's it from me 🧡
