Korean lash lift for droopy downward lashes: Iyo Shop, Mapo, Seoul
In short
Iyo Shop is a one-person lash studio on the 2nd floor of Park Palace 2 in Mapo, Seoul, a 4-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gongdeok Station. Because the writer's lashes grow downward and the curl had dropped out completely after 6 weeks, Iyo Shop recommended a JC curl black tinting lift instead of a dramatic V-curl, and the 50-minute treatment left the lashes lifted tight but still natural. Nutrient serum was applied carefully throughout, so Iyo Shop is worth a consultation for anyone with droopy, downward-growing lashes.

Gongdeok lash lift favorite, Iyo Shop (io shop)
My lashes grow downward, so I get lash lifts regularly on my own dime to keep up with the cycle. With downward-growing lashes, the difference between getting a lift and not is pretty dramatic... so for a natural, defined look I went to Iyo Shop, a lash lift favorite near Gongdeok Station. They gave me a curl exactly to my taste, so let's get into the review!

How to walk to Iyo Shop from Gongdeok Station Exit 3

First off, Iyo Shop is a 4-minute walk from Gongdeok Station Exit 3, so it was easy to find! You just walk straight, no confusing turns, and you'll spot the Park Palace 2 building where Iyo Shop is located :) It also seemed convenient for anyone working around Gongdeok Station, since you could stop by before or after work or during lunch — and that's because Iyo Shop opens early in the morning! Great for booking a slightly earlier appointment on busy days when it's hard to find time.

Iyo Shop is on the 2nd floor of the Park Palace 2 building, so I took the elevator up. The elevator is near the restrooms if you're standing at the building's front desk, just FYI!
Inside Iyo Shop: one-person studio layout and atmosphere

Once you reach the 2nd floor, you'll see the whole studio curtained off. You might wonder if it's really Iyo Shop, but if you spot the sign reading "io shop" in English, you've found the right place haha.

Inside, the studio had an overall clean, calm white-toned atmosphere. Since it's a one-person studio, you can get treated in a quiet setting, which seemed great for relaxing while getting your lashes done.

On one side of the studio, lash nutrient serums sold by Iyo Shop were displayed separately. They even carried a product I actually use myself, which made me extra happy haha.

The product I normally use is Long Time Lash's Dual Nutrient Serum! Using a regular mascara after a lash lift shortens how long the curl lasts, so I use the dual nutrient serum to keep both nourishment and definition in check on days I have plans. If you get lash lifts regularly, I'd recommend picking up a nutrient serum at Iyo Shop after your treatment too.

The heated bed in Iyo Shop's treatment room
And personally, I really loved Iyo Shop's treatment bed space! The bed you lie on for your lash treatment was incredibly comfortable. They turned on the heating function too, so I could lie there warm, and being cozy and warm just melted away the tension. A lash lift means lying down with your eyes closed for about an hour, so a comfortable bed actually matters a lot — it was so relaxing I nearly dozed off during the treatment.
Downward lashes but no V-curl? Iyo Shop's JC curl consultation
Before starting the actual treatment, they carefully asked about the curl look I wanted. I explained that my lashes are long but grow downward, so even after a lash lift, the curl tends to fall out quickly over time. And I had a clear idea of the style I wanted, so I said:
I don't like an unnatural V-curl, but I love a natural, tightly lifted look!
A tricky request haha... But after looking at my eye shape and lash condition, they went with a JC curl that matched exactly what I wanted. It's a curl that looks natural while still giving a defined, eyelash-curler-like lift, so it matched my ideal style perfectly ♥
What a 50-minute black tinting lift looks like right after
Done in just 50 minutes! I went with a black tinting lift instead of a regular lash lift, which gave me an even more defined look.
My lashes are on the thin side, so I think nutrient care matters a lot for me. The director noticed my lashes were thin and carefully applied nutrient serum throughout the treatment, which I really appreciated. It wasn't just about looking pretty right after — I could immediately tell they cared about my lash condition too.

Whether from the side or straight on, each and every lash lifted up so beautifully with Iyo Shop's JC curl, isn't it perfect?! A lash lift really depends on the director's skill — at a place that isn't good at it, your lashes can easily get damaged and the curl won't lift nicely... Lifting them up tightly and beautifully without that overly bent V-curl feeling made me so happy ㅜㅜ
Before and after: downward lashes with zero curl at 6 weeks, and the verdict on Iyo Shop
For a lash lift, before-and-after photos are definitely the most convincing way to see the difference! Here's how I looked before the treatment. I get lash lifts on a regular cycle, so it had been about 6 weeks since my last one. My lashes had pretty much lost all their curl haha, totally flat...
After the treatment, my lashes curled up naturally along my eye shape, and my eyes looked much more defined and awake. As I mentioned, with downward-growing lashes I wanted a clearly lifted curl, but not something as harsh and unnatural-looking as a V-curl — and since the director picked up on that and went with a JC curl, I got a natural curve while still keeping the tight lift I wanted, which was so satisfying. (Even just from the photos, I'm at max satisfaction.)
If you have downward-growing lashes like me and struggle with droopy lashes, or if you want a natural, tightly lifted look rather than an exaggerated V-curl, I'd recommend a consultation and treatment at Iyo Shop near Gongdeok. And doing makeup every morning before work is just so tiring and annoying... After a pretty lash lift, you get a defined look even without full makeup, so you can cut down on your morning routine time. Especially once you find a proper lash lift studio, your satisfaction goes way up... and for me, that place is Iyo Shop, so definitely check it out!
