It's already a well-known coffee spot, but this time, besides coffee, I tried the sangria smoothie and their signature blueberry cream cheese waffle — and it turns out this place is a waffle spot too! It's a large café spanning the 2nd to 4th floors, with high ceilings and plenty of space, making it a perfect place to visit for a leisurely day off. Let's get into the review!

What each floor of this Dongchon Resort view café is like

Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch spans the 2nd to 4th floors, and each floor has its own atmosphere. I made my way down from the 4th floor, checking out which seat would be best. Being higher up, the 4th floor had a better view and was quieter than the other floors, making it a good spot for conversation.

The 3rd floor is the largest, with high ceilings, so it never felt stuffy even with a lot of customers.

High-ceilinged 3rd floor hall of Hands Coffee

I settled on the 3rd floor, and since it sits on the highest hill of Dongchon Resort, the view was excellent. Seeing the bridge and the lush green scenery was really relaxing on the eyes.

The 2nd floor has wide sofa seating, and this is where you order bakery items and coffee.

The long black and drip coffee are both great, but menu items with cream on top, like the Mélange, are popular too. For dessert, the Hands handmade cookies and handmade glutinous rice waffle are both crowd favorites — highly recommend!

Decaf café latte, 6,300 won

Hands Coffee's coffee has never disappointed me, so this time I went for the decaf café latte. There was no sourness, just a nutty, dark bean aroma mixed into the milk — nutty without being greasy, and clean-tasting overall. Even being decaf, the aroma was great, and it was a latte with absolutely no rough edges!

White sangria smoothie topped with spearmint

White sangria smoothie, 6,500 won (less sweet)

This is a white sangria smoothie with a fresh spearmint and lemon aroma. If you're looking for a cool, caffeine-free drink, this smoothie comes highly recommended, no question. Ordered less sweet, it wasn't sugary at all — refreshing and clean-finishing, perfect after a meal. It has the freshness of spearmint and a fragrant, lemon-balm-like scent, without any sourness, so even people who dislike tart flavors will enjoy it. I'd definitely order this sangria smoothie again on a return visit!!

Large-sized blueberry cream cheese waffle
Waffle topped with fresh blueberries and Haagen-Dazs ice cream

Blueberry cream cheese waffle, 16,800 won

This is the blueberry cream cheese waffle. It's enormous in size, and since it's the signature menu item, I had to try it. At ₩16,800 for one waffle, I thought it was pricey, but the glutinous rice waffle itself is huge, topped with fresh blueberries, cream cheese, and Haagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream.

A piece of glutinous rice waffle with cream cheese

I liked that there was no maple syrup on the waffle — the tart-sweet blueberries paired really well with the ice cream and cream cheese. There's a reason this waffle is famous: the glutinous rice waffle itself tastes great on its own, so I think I would have been satisfied even with a waffle topped with something else entirely. I wasn't hungry since I'd just had lunch, but between the waffle, the smoothie, and the coffee, nothing missed the mark, and I came away pretty satisfied with my dessert outing!

I already knew their coffee was clean-tasting, but the white sangria smoothie I tried this time had such a lovely fragrance that I really want to recommend it. The blueberry cream cheese waffle is generously topped with blueberries, and the combination of Haagen-Dazs and the glutinous rice waffle is so good that it's a dessert almost anyone would enjoy.
