Daegu brunch café for a wedding invite meetup in Jung-gu: Dento

In short

Dento is a new brunch café on Bongsan Culture 2-gil in Jung-gu, Daegu. The writer came with her husband and ordered Dento's signature five bite-size open sandwiches with an americano and a peppermint tea, and the next table was holding a wedding invitation gathering — proof that the room works for groups too. Between the calm music and the tidy interior, Dento suits both a couple's date and a wedding invite meetup.

It had been a while since I had a proper date with my husband somewhere with a nice atmosphere, so we went to a newly opened brunch café near Banwoldang called Dento.

Every finish, every light fixture felt chosen with real care — cozy but sophisticated — and I thought, "wow, this place is going to blow up on Instagram soon." I could feel the whole-body vibe of a hotspot that's about to get so popular it'll be hard to snag a seat.

Does Dento work for both a wedding invite meetup and a date?

Dento worked well both as a couple's date spot and a wedding invitation gathering spot. It had such a warm atmosphere for quietly catching up and looking my husband in the eye again after a while, but the tidy, pretty texture of the space also naturally made me think of it as a place for a wedding invite meetup with loved ones, or a date on a special day.

The table next to us was actually there for a wedding invitation gathering. Delivering good news in a place this nice would definitely earn you compliments for having great taste. Photos come out beautifully here, and the food is clean and made with care. The music was calm too, so it seemed like a great spot for chatting.

Dento's five bite-size open sandwiches with americano and peppermint tea

Filling our table today was Dento's signature 'five bite-size open sandwiches,' along with an americano and a peppermint tea to keep things refreshing.

The five bite-size open sandwiches looked like a colorful little painting laid out on a small plate. The moment we saw the vivid colors and carefully composed plating, both my husband and I couldn't stop marveling.

The delicate, intricate arrangement of ingredients made your eyes light up with joy even before you took a bite.

Colorful, fresh toppings sat harmoniously on golden-toasted, savory baguette slices, and each bite bloomed with pleasant layers of flavor. Being light and clean in bite-sized portions made it all the more appealing, and it was fun how each ingredient's distinct texture and taste came together in one lively moment. Personally, I loved the open toast topped with cream cheese and truffle.

Highly recommend pairing the five open sandwiches with the peppermint tea — a perfect match.

My husband took a sip of the americano, its deep, nutty aroma spreading gently, and it paired beautifully with the sandwiches; the peppermint tea rounded off the end of brunch with a clean, refreshing finish. The portions looked small, but with so many toppings layered on, it was surprisingly filling.

Was Dento worth the visit?

Between the coziness of the space and the rich flavors filling our mouths, it was a warm brunch time that fully refilled our emotional tank amid the tiredness of everyday life. Recommend stopping by before it gets even more famous and you have to wait.
