Daegu brunch café with 100% grapefruit juice in Bongsan-dong: Dento

In short

Dento is a new brunch café in Bongsan-dong, Jung-gu, Daegu, near Exit 9 of Banwoldang Station. At Dento I ordered the one-bite open sandwich set (12,000 won) and a 100% grapefruit juice (7,000 won), tasting all five sandwiches in the order the staff recommended, and the romesco roasted vegetables stood out most. With just six tables in a small, exotic-feeling room, Dento is easiest to reach by public transport.

Dento's menu: open sandwiches with beer and wine too

Here's Dento's menu. True to a Bongsan-dong brunch spot, there was a wide variety of sandwiches. I was surprised that besides coffee, tea, and drinks, they also sell beer and wine.

In the center of the shop there was a self-service zone. It had everything you'd need — water, utensils, disposable gloves, and more.

A plate with five one-bite open sandwiches

One-bite open sandwiches at Dento: 12,000 won for five kinds

Dento's one-bite open sandwiches cost ₩12,000, and the menu lets you enjoy five different kinds of open sandwiches. They looked so good it almost felt a shame to eat them.

From left to right: pan con tomate, avocado and salmon, romesco roasted vegetable, shrimp rémoulade, and truffle ricotta. The staff recommended eating them in order from left to right, so that's what we did.

The first sandwich, pan con tomate open sandwich

Pan con tomate

The moment I tried the pan con tomate, I was surprised at how delicious it was~ It felt light and refreshing, perfect as a first bite.

Avocado and salmon open sandwich

Avocado and salmon

Avocado and salmon is a popular combo, right~ It's a combination I usually like anyway, so I enjoyed it. The ingredients were fresh, which made it even tastier.

Romesco roasted vegetable open sandwich

Romesco roasted vegetables, the standout

The romesco roasted vegetable sandwich was striking just from its look. The vegetables were cooked just right and paired well with the sauce~ This was the one I enjoyed most, haha.

Shrimp rémoulade open sandwich

Shrimp rémoulade

The shrimp rémoulade had a great combination of plump shrimp and crunchy celery. Where the romesco roasted vegetable felt a bit heavier, the shrimp rémoulade felt light, almost like a palate refresher.

Truffle ricotta open sandwich

Truffle ricotta

The last one, truffle ricotta, had a subtle truffle aroma. It paired well with the bread, so I enjoyed it a lot.

A glass of Dento's 100% grapefruit juice

100% grapefruit juice, 7,000 won and full of pulp

Dento's 100% grapefruit juice costs ₩7,000. True to its name, it's made deliciously with grapefruit packed in.

There was also plenty of grapefruit pulp piled on top~ It wasn't artificially sweet, which made for a genuinely nice grapefruit flavor. It paired well with the sandwiches too!

Is Dento worth a second visit?

Dento left an impression with its delicious one-bite open sandwiches and fresh grapefruit juice. The open sandwiches were so good that I'd want to come back to try the other flavors. Highly recommended if you're looking for a sandwich spot near Banwoldang or a brunch café in Bongsan-dong.
