Walk a little way down the alley from Banwoldang, the heart of Daegu, and you'll find Dento with its clean, charming exterior. The warm wood-toned interior, white awning, and cute standing sign made me feel like I'd stumbled into some small café in Europe.

Inside Dento: atmosphere and space between tables

Stepping inside, warm sunlight pours in through the large windows, and calm yet stylish decor fills the space. The tables are spaced comfortably apart too, making it really nice for chatting over brunch.

The atmosphere was good enough to make this a solid pick for a date course or a hangout spot with friends near Banwoldang in Daegu.

On this visit we tried a variety of Dento's signature dishes and cool drinks: the bite-size sandwich, tomato soup, and drip iced Americano.

This is Dento's signature visual menu item — the bite-size sandwich! On a long plate, crispy baguette slices come lined up, topped with a colorful mix of tomato, salmon avocado, mushroom and broccoli, potato salad, cream cheese, and more.

It's fun picking them up one by one, and each topping has a completely different flavor charm so there's no chance of getting bored. The baguette was especially crispy outside and soft inside, blending perfectly with the fresh ingredients. It's the kind of dish you enjoy with your eyes first, then fall for with your mouth.

The tomato soup had a rich, smooth flavor that stood out. Built on a red tomato base with a hint of oil and spices for accent, it had a deep, robust taste.
