Daegu brunch café that's easy to visit alone in Bongsan-dong: Dento

Sometimes lately I crave something light instead of a full meal. On this day I wanted to spend some relaxed time alone, so I went to Dento in Bongsan-dong! It's a fairly new place, so it's clean and the whole café has an emotional, pretty vibe that just makes you want to take photos.

Dento is a pretty brunch café that didn't feel awkward at all even visiting solo! Perfect for a quiet rest before heading back out. Sometimes you just need a little alone time,,

Dento is located at 1F, 42-5 Bongsanmunhwa 2-gil, Jung-gu, Daegu. It's 192m from Exit 9 of Banwoldang Station.

Brunch at Dento on a slow afternoon

Dento has a clean, emotional atmosphere! You can tell it's well put-together from the entrance, and the hand-drawn illustration by the entrance is so cute.. and don't even get me started on wanting that plant.

The menu board is cute too haha. As a proper brunch café, they have sandwiches and toast, with a nice variety of sandwiches and salads, but since I was alone I was curious about the bite-size open sandwiches. It wasn't loud or busy, which was nice and quiet, so I started off by taking some pretty photos first. Ordered the bite-size sandwiches and grapefruit juice!

So pretty right.. this warm wood interior café is just so lovely. Really fits the brunch mood haha. Even the tables and little props seem to blend right into the atmosphere. I ended up taking photos before the food even arrived.

That hand-drawn illustration is so covetable.. wherever there's something cute I grab my camera first. Dento does takeout too, so it seems great for whenever you want to grab a simple brunch or sandwich to go!!

I visited during the day, and there were a lot of other guests enjoying brunch too. It's small but has about 5 tables haha. It'd been a while since I went solo, but the space never felt awkward at all!

Bite-size open sandwiches with grapefruit juice

It looked so pretty even before eating that I almost felt bad digging in ㅠㅠ The colors were lovely and the ingredients were all different, so it felt like looking at a mini brunch plate?! What I liked most was being able to try several kinds of toppings at once!! The portion is just right for brunch, and it seems fine even for people on a diet like me!! It's the kind of light bite you can savor slowly — you can see why it's not intimidating to eat alone, right?!

The grapefruit juice pairing was really great too!! After tasting the sandwich's mild, varied flavors, one sip of grapefruit juice refreshed my mouth completely, which I really liked haha. Coffee is nice with brunch, but a bright, tangy juice is great too… eating in order really did feel exactly like a course meal.

What order should you eat them in? Start with tomato

Right before I started eating, they recommended an order to eat in. They suggested starting with tomato and going through the rest in sequence!! At first I wondered if an order was really necessary, but once I started eating I understood what they meant. Tasting the sandwiches topped with tomato, then salmon, vegetables, shrimp and more, each one truly had a different taste and feel, which made it both fun and delicious~~ I tried each one, looking forward to what flavor would come next.

Just my personal opinion, but the salmon one was really the best haha. Salmon lover~~~

Why Dento works for eating alone

Perfect for enjoying a mini brunch course! I went by myself, not to meet anyone, and just got to rest fully on my own and left feeling healed by the pretty space haha. Next time I'll have to come back with a friend or for a date!

They're generous with the portions haha. Above all, if you're looking for a good sandwich spot in Bongsan-dong, you should definitely stop by at least once!! Whenever I'm craving brunch, I think I'll come back here often haha. The portion is just right for a light meal too~~~~

The food looks pretty and it's truly brunch you can hold in one hand. Easy to eat, tasty, pretty — it has it all! For a mood lift, Dento~~ Next time I'll have to come back and try other sandwiches. If you love something refreshing, don't skip the grapefruit juice!! Come to Dento for some relaxed brunch time.
