Today I'm introducing Baedagol Bakery House, located in Wondang-dong, Deogyang-gu, Goyang. It's already a hot spot thanks to its wide garden, a real healing space. As a dad of four boys, I'm always on the lookout for cafés that work with kids, and this one's spacious outdoor area and sand play spot make it really appealing for families. Given how big the café is, the parking was quite generous too. Besides the lot right in front, there are separate 2nd and 3rd parking lots across the way, so finding a spot on a weekend visit by car shouldn't be much of a hassle.

After parking, the path to the entrance is already lined with colorful flowers and trees welcoming you in.

Just walking along the garden path alone felt genuinely healing.

Baedagol Bakery House's biggest draw is definitely its sprawling garden. From the moment you walk in along the garden path, flowers and trees line the way, putting you in a relaxed mood before you've even had a bite of bread or a sip of your drink. Beyond the 1st floor indoor space, there's also 2nd floor seating and an outdoor terrace.

But after walking around, once the heat had eased off a bit, the 1st floor outdoor parasol seats were my favorite. Sitting right next to the garden view let me enjoy the café's biggest strength up close — this is the seat that shows off what this place is really about.

After walking the garden, stepping inside brings you first to a neatly organized counter.

This place is very serious about its melon menu too. Serious enough to keep a dedicated melon fridge. There's a melon tart latte, melon ade, melon yogurt smoothie, and even a melon snow ice — a whole lineup built around melon.

The bakery selection was pretty wide too — even though I visited on a weekday afternoon after lunch, some items were already sold out, so it's worth arriving a bit early for the popular ones.

Tasting the bakery items I picked out along with the melon ade, I realized this isn't just a café you visit for the garden — it's plenty worth visiting for the bread and drinks alone.

There's a sand play area tucked into one side of the outdoor garden, which looked like a nice spot for kids to play for a bit. That said, there are on-site signs warning about snakes and bees, so it's worth keeping in mind if you're visiting with children.

Beyond the 1st floor, the 2nd floor indoor space is also spacious and comfortable, with floor-to-ceiling windows letting you take in the garden view — plenty of healing to be had indoors too.
