A men's cut spot in Cheongna, Goeum Hair Salon is a one-man shop run by a male owner, and this is where my boyfriend got his short cut and gray coverage color done.

Lately my boyfriend's gray hairs have been popping up more every month 🥲🥲 He kept wanting to wear a hat all the time and said it was stressing him out, so I said, okay, let's go get it colored!! I found a salon in Cheongna known for doing color really well.

Goeum Hair Salon is located at Room 218, A-dong Cheongna X Tower, 22 Jungbongdae-ro 586beon-gil, Seohae-gu, Incheon, South Korea. It's on the 2nd floor of the A-dong (north) commercial building at Cheongna 1-danji, Cheongna 1-dong.

• 🚶 On foot: It's across the street from the Aladin used bookstore south of Canal Way — enter through the door next to Bongdari Samgyeop and go up to the 2nd floor, and it's on the left.

Closed every Tuesday, open 🕔 10:00 am – 10:00 pm. Naver Reservation is available, so I'd recommend checking the schedule and booking ahead before you visit :)

Inside Goeum Hair Salon: floor-to-ceiling windows and the waiting area

The moment I stepped into Goeum Hair Salon, what caught my eye first was the big floor-to-ceiling window filling one whole wall. It's a lush window view like a little garden in the middle of the city.

You get a full view of the green street trees right there, and it felt like getting your hair done out in nature instead of stuck in a wall of buildings. Bright natural light poured into the space the whole time, and even my mood felt brighter during the whole treatment — a real healing spot 🌿

There's even a cute car-shaped chair for kids — you could feel how thoughtful the owner is.

What the consultation with the male owner was like

The treatment my boyfriend got that day was a short cut + gray coverage color. He had a good back-and-forth consultation with the Goeum Hair Salon owner, who tried to recommend a style that would suit him well, and really listened to the hair issues he'd been dealing with.

Here he is explaining away. He'd gotten cuts at other salons for the past few months and hadn't liked any of them. The male owner here has a lot of experience, and he said his goal is specifically to give cuts that are easy to manage at home afterward. My trust in him shot right up ♥️

The short cut, step by step, and the sideburn lines

The Goeum Hair Salon owner got straight into cutting, snip snip snip. His hands are fast and precise! Watching from the side, I actually decided I want to come here for my own hair next time haha 😆

He also cut the back of the head really naturally, and the sideburn area in particular looked great! That's honestly a spot women low-key find attractive. It's the part that defines a guy's whole impression — if it's messy or unkempt, the whole look ends up feeling messy too 😆

Once the hair was cut, the gray hairs were even more visible. At Goeum Hair Salon, the color application started really fast, with an expert's touch. For an impatient person like me, that's such a relief. Precise and speedy 🤚🤚

Cut + gray coverage color, all done! The owner even styled the front section for him, and once the color was in, his whole face looked brighter with a clean, polished impression. Satisfaction level: 100%, and my boyfriend liked it too.

The owner has great instincts. He cut it to really suit the client's face and made it look great, and the color was applied really carefully too. Next time I'll go get my own color done there! I'd recommend this place for men's cutting and coloring.
