Why dry autumn hair sent me to a hair clinic in Cheongna

Now that it's autumn and the weather's gotten drier, my hair has been feeling more brittle and dry than usual — probably why haha. The ends especially seemed a bit damaged, so this time I decided to get a hair clinic done at a Cheongna hair salon.

Where Goeum Hair Salon is and what the salon feels like

The place I visited was Goeum Hair Salon (고움헤어살롱). It's on the 2nd floor of the A商가 building at Cheongna Exllutower, about a 3-minute walk from Cheongna Canal Way, so it's pretty accessible for Cheongna residents.

I'd made a reservation on Naver beforehand. Walking in, the whole wall was glass, so the place felt bright, and overall spacious and clean.

It's a one-person salon run solely by a male director, so it's a one-on-one, focused style of care. There was also a chair shaped like a kids' car, which I think kids would love.

There was a kids' chair and a small play area set up too, so it looked like a fine option for anyone visiting with a child.

Hair clinic price: 80,000 won — what happens step by step?

What I got was the hair clinic, priced at 80,000 won, and the whole treatment took about 1 hour 30 minutes. After dropping off my things and changing into a gown, it started with a shampoo.

The shampoo was done with clinic-only products, along with a scalp massage. It felt more refreshing than I expected, which really helped me relax.

They also covered my legs with a blanket during the treatment, so I could stay comfortable the whole time.

After the shampoo, clinic products were applied step by step, with machine treatments mixed in between. I was a bit rushed since I had somewhere to be next, but the director worked quickly while still handling each step calmly and carefully.

An honest consultation about how damaged my hair really was

Before the treatment, he carefully checked my hair condition and told me the damage wasn't as bad as I thought — only the ends were a bit damaged. I personally really liked this part~

Instead of pushing the idea that I needed a ton of clinic treatments, he honestly explained the current state of my hair! That made it easy for me to understand what actually needed care.

Which hair clinic products Goeum Hair Salon uses

He also showed me the products used for the clinic directly. They use KANATO PROFESSIONAL products in stages, and I could see exactly which products were being used on my hair.

The salon apparently also sells products like Carteri shampoo and treatment.

There was also an explanation of the Carteri products written on the wall, describing both the shampoo and treatment as formulated with hair and scalp care in mind. Being able to see exactly which products were used during the clinic was a nice touch.

Before and after: how my hair changed

After all the treatment was done, they finished with a blow-dry. Before the treatment, the ends looked a bit frizzy and my hair overall looked dry, but afterward my hair looked noticeably calmer and more settled.

Comparing the before-and-after photos, my hair looked overall neater and tidier, and when I touched it myself, it felt softer than before.

My once-dry hair felt calmer and a little healthier, which was satisfying! That said, the director also explained that a clinic alone won't completely transform already-damaged hair — for hair that's already quite damaged, it's better to get it trimmed off with a cut.

How often to repeat the clinic, membership packages and parking

He said it's good to get the clinic about once a month, so I'm planning to keep an eye on my hair condition and go back as needed. Goeum Hair Salon also offers membership passes, so if you want ongoing care, you can use them based on however many sessions you need. Parking is available at the building's lot, with the first 180 minutes free, so there's plenty of time even if you drive.

I went before work this time, but on weekdays they're open from 10 AM to 10 PM, so if you're looking for a Cheongna hair shop you can stop by near Cheongna Canal Way after work, it might be worth booking a time that fits your schedule.

What I liked most was getting private, one-on-one, calm care while being told honestly what my hair actually needed — for someone like me dealing with dry autumn hair, it was a clinic I could get without any pressure.
