Weekday dog-watching on the patio at Uijeongbu cafe Forerest

I finally made it back after a long while. This is one of my favorite large cafés in Uijeongbu — and it's pet-friendly too — "Forerest." This place is seriously good, everyone. Let me explain why, one thing at a time 🙂

Why go back to Forerest on a weekday afternoon?

Forerest is a large café on Nogyang-ro in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi, with both outdoor seating and a spacious indoor area. The weather's been so nice lately that I keep craving outdoor cafés (I'm usually too lazy to go out of my way for one, though). I'd been here once before, a few years back — went with family, and the weather, the coffee, and the dessert were all so good that I told myself I had to bring a friend next time.

Life got busy and chaotic, but I finally made it here with the friend I'd been wanting to bring for years. This is a great café for sorting out your thoughts alone, for working on a laptop, and for reading a book too — I'd recommend it to just about anyone.

What is Forerest's outdoor seating like?

It's not hot anymore sitting outside at Forerest — instead there's a gentle breeze that feels just right, so I bet the outdoor seats get popular now 🍁🍂 If you go around October or November, the leaves might even be turning?! (Well, assuming there are maple trees haha.) Anyway — if you're looking for a large café in Uijeongbu, I really do recommend Forerest.

The reason I keep recommending it is because when something really wins me over, I just can't stop talking about it. Good things are better shared. Anyway, what I love here is that you can see nature all around and it's open on every side, so it never feels stuffy. I'd had a bit of a frustrating time lately, and chatting and enjoying time with a friend here made me feel a lot better. If you're feeling stuffed up like I was, go heal here 🌿

Inside Forerest: themed rooms and bringing your dog

The inside of Forerest is spacious with plenty of seats! On a weekday it was pretty empty, but I imagine weekends get busy.

You can bring your dog inside too. Thanks to that, I got to see so many cute dogs and it genuinely made me happy 🐶🐕🐩 Stay healthy, little ones.

Forerest's menu: Basque cheesecake choices

There's one thing you absolutely have to eat when you come to Forerest. It's the Basque cheesecake!

Ah, the Basque cheesecake here is unbelievably good. If you skip this, you'll just have to come back to Forerest. And the coffee is really delicious too. I personally prefer beans that are dark or nutty without acidity, and Forerest's coffee is nutty and delicious with a slightly dark note too.

Anyone who really knows this flavor can't help but salivate... We ordered one Earl Grey and one chocolate Basque cheesecake each. I was sad every time a bite disappeared.

The cheese they use has no acidity either, so it's nutty, soft, and sweet — just absolutely delicious 🎶

Chocolate Basque cheesecake at Forerest

If you're a chocolate fanatic, you have to try this one. The chocolate flavor is really rich and I basically ascended eating it. The kind of taste that melts away stress completely, no joke.

Earl Grey Basque cheesecake at Forerest

The Earl Grey one is no joke either. The flavor and aroma of the tea are strong but not overpowering — just the right amount! Paired with an Americano, it's a perfect match. Instantly puts you in a good mood and ready for endless chatting.

Eating both together makes it even better haha. As someone who loves both chocolate and Earl Grey, I was truly satisfied ^_^ I want to eat one a day, every day 🥲

You get to see cute dogs like these too. The moment I saw them, all my stress just vanished. Honest proper therapy haha. There'd probably be even more dogs on a weekend? I think I need to go on a weekend next time... 🐶

A cafe in Uijeongbu open until midnight

Here's the indoor seating I hadn't shown you yet! Each room has a slightly different vibe and its own kind of pretty haha. And since Forerest is open until midnight, I'd also recommend it if you're looking for a late-night café in Uijeongbu!
