Fireworks-night bingsu truck at Jamsil Stadium: Bingdongdaeng

I went to Jamsil Baseball Stadium on a weekend when Hanwha Eagles played LG Twins. It wasn't just a game day either — Jamsil Night and a fireworks show were scheduled, so I headed to the stadium feeling more excited than usual. I arrived a bit early before the game started and walked around the stadium, and honestly, checking out the food at Jamsil is just as fun as the game itself.

If you walk from Exit 5 of Sports Complex Station toward Gate 1 in the outfield, you'll spot a yellow food truck!

Wandering around near the ticket gates at Jamsil, I saw all kinds of food trucks and snacks. Familiar stadium food like chicken or pizza is great, but hunting down menus you can only find on game days is kind of fun too.

The first thing that caught my eye was Ppeun-yeou Hot Dog, which is supposedly famous in Gyeongju. It's easy to think only of chicken and beer at Jamsil, but hunting for food truck menus like this was fun too. The line can get long right before the game starts, so if you're planning to buy something, arriving a little early isn't a bad idea.

Another thing that grabbed my attention was the cream shrimp station. It's apparently a well-known menu item at several stadiums including SSG, Samsung, and KIA, so it stood out among the stadium food. People usually go for familiar things like dakgangjeong (Korean fried chicken) or fried chicken at the ballpark, so having a shrimp option felt like a nice change of pace.

Bingsu (shaved ice dessert) at a baseball stadium is a bit unusual, right? You could eat a proper meal before the game starts and then have snacks or dessert while watching the game. Jamsil Stadium has so much food around it that I'd recommend walking around outside before heading in.

Why eating is half the fun at Jamsil Baseball Stadium

After walking around Jamsil Stadium and grabbing food, I properly settled in to watch the game. If you're going with a group, buying a bunch of different things to share is definitely the most fun way to do it. We don't usually stick to one set menu at the stadium either — we just pick whatever looks good as we pass by, and I love that about eating this way!

I originally planned to save the bingsu for dessert, but I realized that if you're at the stadium on a hot summer day, it might actually be better to eat it first. If you're visiting Jamsil Stadium in summer, I'd strongly recommend Bingdongdaeng's bingsu. Walking around the hot stadium and then having a cool spoonful of bingsu really brought me back to life, haha.

Yeppeun Yeou Hot Dog's best seller: bacon corn mayo

The best-seller never disappoints — bacon corn mayo! At the stadium, food you can eat one-handed is popular, and a hot dog is perfect for that since it's easy to eat while watching the game.

Cream shrimp is something I always order when I go to the Daejeon stadium, but I had no idea there was a truck for it at Jamsil too. It was so hot early in the game that I ended up eating it after the sun went down, but the batter was still crispy and the shrimp were plump — great texture. With nachos on top of that, there was no way I wasn't having a beer!

This was a Hanwha vs LG game, and being a weekend game, the atmosphere at Jamsil was really great. On top of that, with Jamsil Night and fireworks scheduled, it felt like a special occasion even before I walked into the stadium. Cheering while watching the game, snacking in between, and then catching fireworks after the game — it was a day that really captured what watching baseball live is all about. Unfortunately Hanwha lost that game (I'm holding back since the manager doesn't have much time left — ugh), but seeing the fireworks at the end took some of the sting out of it. Thinking that this might be the last summer night I'd watch a game at Jamsil, the mood of the day felt really good regardless of the score.

Jamsil Stadium feels different these days compared to before. On this visit I went for the Hanwha game, checked out the food trucks, ended up eating bingsu first because it was so hot even though I hadn't planned to, enjoyed the game, and caught the fireworks at the end. Hanwha lost, but between the post-game fireworks and the energy of the crowd, I think this day will stick with me as a good memory.

The mood at Jamsil Stadium on a summer night that's about to say goodbye feels really special. My heart is all soft and fuzzy! Next time I go to Jamsil, instead of just watching the game and heading straight in, I'll arrive a little earlier, look around the food and food trucks first, and pick out my snacks before going in.

And if it's a hot day, I really recommend the strawberry bingsu loaded with milk ice that I had this time! I originally thought of bingsu as dessert, but this time it ended up being the very first thing I reached for — and looking back, it was absolutely the right call.🧡
