Ever since my Bohol trip, my hair's been dry and brittle, so I needed regular hair clinics. I got a Shiseido Clinic two weeks ago, but my hair started going dry again already... so this time I visited Drapore near Jung-dong Station for a Hoyu Clinic.

Drapore is on the first floor of a building right next to Emart at Jung-dong Station. It's also close to the subway, so it's really accessible, plus there's free parking in the underground lot.

It's a salon near Jung-dong Station where you can get all kinds of clinics — Shiseido Clinic, Hoyu Clinic, Quick Bond Clinic, Cinderella Clinic, and more.

Maybe because I came on a weekday, it was quiet and cozy, and the space itself was really pleasant. If there are too many customers I end up drained by the end, but Drapore has its space split into two sections, and since most people come by appointment, I didn't have to deal with a crowd — I liked that.

How much the Hoyu Clinic costs and what the 3 steps do

The "Hoyu Clinic" I got is divided into 3 steps. It's priced at ₩79,000 for hair shorter than shoulder-length, and ₩99,000 for anything longer.

Step 1 is clinic shampoo, Step 2 is moisture and nutrient infusion, and Step 3 is coating the infused nutrients in place — three steps total.

It was my first time meeting Designer Yul, but she made me feel comfortable the whole time, so I could relax and focus on the treatment.

You could tell from the shampooing alone that Designer Yul has real experience. After going to salons for years, I've noticed the delicacy in someone's fingertips is always different — she shampoos with such care.

For step 2, she applies a clinic product that packs moisture and nutrients deep into the hair.

She applied it so thoroughly to make sure it absorbed well into my hair that I was already excited to see how much my hair condition would improve.

Chatting with Designer Yul about this and that, the time really flew by.

Two steam sessions, with tea and cookies

After applying the step 2 product, she puts a steamer over your hair like this so the ingredients absorb well into the strands. It's warm and toasty, and it makes your whole body relax.

Such a nice touch, bringing out warm tea and cookies too. Sitting under the steamer while sipping warm tea felt like paradise.

Next, she applies the final clinic product. This one helps seal in the moisture and nutrients that went in during the earlier step so they don't escape. Then she uses the steamer once more to help the clinic ingredients absorb into the hair.

LPP treatment and the hands-on scalp massage

After that, we moved to the shampoo station to rinse out the remaining clinic product, and she applied an LPP treatment.

LPP stands for Low Poly Peptide — it supplies the hair with a protein/peptide similar to keratin, the main protein that makes up hair, helping repair damaged areas. This treatment smelled so good I even asked what product it was, haha.

She gently massaged my scalp and neck, and even though it was brief, that moment felt so good.

My scalp tends to be pretty stiff, so getting this hand scalp care after the clinic was a two-in-one win — both my hair and scalp improved.

How the hair looked afterwards, and home care tips

From going into the sea so often, my hair had gotten dry and brittle, but thanks to the Hoyu Clinic at Drapore it bounced back smooth. Of course, for a proper full recovery, she said I'd need one more clinic within two weeks. Rather than just letting frizzy hair be, I'd rather spend the time and money to get back to silky, bouncy hair.

Like Designer Yul told me, I should diligently keep up homecare with acidic shampoo so the clinic effects last as long as possible.

A comfortable atmosphere, reasonable prices, and professional skill all in one — Drapore is a salon I want to keep visiting. Since Designer Yul handled the Hoyu Clinic so well, next time I want to come back for a Cinderella or Shiseido Clinic.
