Busan café with no coffee on the menu: Suwolgyeonghwa, Songjeong

Hi, this is Ridge living my best life. This time I went to hang out at a café with a view of Songjeong Beach. It was my first visit through a blogger campaign, and turns out it's a famous dessert spot in Songjeong haha. Let's get into the honest review 💚

Where is Suwolgyeonghwa in Songjeong, and what are its hours?

The café is on the 4th floor of the building. There's no elevator, so you have to walk up the stairs. Watch your step and go gently. Once inside, you hear the sound of waves.

What the 4th floor of Suwolgyeonghwa feels like at night

I arrived inside Suwolgyeonghwa. I came at night. Isn't the atmosphere great?! The café's tall wooden pillars look amazing. The old-style door is cool too, right? Try opening it. I opened it myself. What's inside the room?! I'll tell you what was there at the end, haha.

This is what Songjeong's sea looks like at night. It'd probably be pretty in the daytime too. A train passes by too, which makes the view even more fun. Watching the waves is really healing.

How to order at Suwolgyeonghwa, and why there's no coffee

To order, first grab a menu.

The Pungwol shown first is Suwolgyeonghwa's dessert menu — it's a monaka (wafer sandwich cookie). Flip a page and you get to the drinks menu. There's no coffee. I ordered the bingsu called Toh (Saturday) and a soda called Soo (Wednesday) with jasmine, lemon, and sparkling water. The menu names are pretty unique. After ordering, I got a buzzer.

About 10 minutes later the buzzer went off, so I went to pick up my order. Two drinks and one dessert came out.

This is Saturday's bingsu. There's cream on top. You can mix it all together, or eat the cream first.

This is the Pungwol monaka dessert. On top are different-flavored red bean pastes, and underneath is the monaka wafer.

Is Suwolgyeonghwa worth a night visit in Songjeong?

There are so many beaches around Busan — Gwangalli, Haeundae, Dadaepo, Ilgwang, Songjeong, and more. Even as a Busan local, I still haven't been to Dadaepo or Ilgwang.

I made a nice little memory at Suwolgyeonghwa, a Songjeong café right in front of Songjeong Beach.

• There's no coffee on the drinks menu.
• Dongbaek-jeon payment is accepted.
• I'd recommend the soda over the bingsu.
• Definitely order the monaka dessert and try it.
• There was pottery inside the room!
