Suwon Station bar with seasonal grilled tiger prawns: Manseokjip

In short

Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch is a room-style bar and grill at the entrance to the Suwon Station Rodeo food street in Suwon, Gyeonggi. Even after a full dinner elsewhere, the fire chicken cream pasta, the seasonal grilled tiger prawns (limited to 10 a day) and the draft beer disappeared fast, and staff will re-grill the prawn heads in butter on request. For a group that judges a bar by the size and taste of its anju (food served with drinks), Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch delivers.

Today I'm bringing you a review of 'Manseokjip,' a great spot near Suwon Station for hanging out with friends or having a drink with good side dishes. If you're someone who thinks "I eat a LOT of anju (drinking snacks) when I drink!" — you'll be satisfied here, with portions and flavor that rival a regular restaurant.

Where Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch is, and what the rooms feel like

Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch is located right at the entrance to the Suwon Station Rodeo food street, so it's easy to get to, and the retro concept stood out to me!

The moment you walk in, that distinctive warm, lively atmosphere greets you. The lighting and interior are perfect for a cold one after work. Each room is separated by walls and a door, so you're free from noise from other tables or people's eyes, and sound doesn't leak much to the outside — it seemed like a solid spot for deep conversations, secret talks, or focused gatherings haha.

The anju menu and how tablet ordering works

Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch has a variety of anju (drinking snacks) that rival a regular restaurant, and honestly, I thought it tasted better than a pasta place lol.

With the smart ordering system, you can easily order from inside your room using the tablet 😀 We'd already eaten dinner before coming, so we thought we'd just get something light, but after hearing that Manseokjip's anju is tastier than a regular restaurant, we ordered the fire chicken cream pasta and a cold draft beer.

How spicy is the fire chicken cream pasta?

Manseokjip's fire chicken cream pasta comes topped generously with thick slices of spam, and it had that fully-Korean-palate flavor that basically nobody could dislike. I was skeptical — isn't 'fire chicken cream' supposed to make you wince and hiss with every bite? But it turned out to be just spicy enough, and we cleared the whole plate in no time haha.

I'm usually the type who needs pickles whenever I eat pasta, but the kick here wasn't overwhelming and the flavor kept pulling me back in, so I finished it without any pickles at all. It wasn't just spam either — shrimp, bacon, and other ingredients were packed in generously, which made it even tastier haha.

Seasonal grilled tiger prawns: only 10 orders a day

Prawn heads re-grilled in butter on request

For our second dish, we picked the food that's the first thing that comes to mind once the weather turns cool: seasonal grilled tiger prawns 🤤 Manseokjip only sells these in a limited quantity of 10 a day, which made it impossible not to order.

When it arrived, I was surprised by the quality — better than I expected.

Plump prawns, springy and firm ✨✨, sitting on a bed of coarse salt. The heads and bodies come already separated, so all you have to do is peel the body and eat.

The meat is firm and sweet, well-seasoned with salt, so it's delicious just as it is,

and it's just as good dipped generously in chojang (vinegared chili paste). Once you've worked through the prawn bodies, tell the staff and they'll take the leftover heads and re-grill them in butter until crispy. We were too full to try it ourselves, but it's a can't-miss delicacy when eating tiger prawns, so make sure to ask for it haha. Sweet and salty — perfect with a drink.

What to know before visiting Manseokjip Suwon Station Branch

  • Seasonal seafood menu items can change by season, so if you're after a seasonal specialty, check the current lineup before you go
  • During evening peak hours or on weekends there can be a wait due to the crowds, so it's best to arrive a bit early
  • Popular with couples and 20s–30s groups thanks to a range of fusion anju (pasta, nabe hot pot, stir-fries, etc.)
  • Also has familiar pocha-style anju (stews, stir-fries, fried dishes, etc.) at good value, plus large rooms suited to bigger group gatherings
