Suwon Station bar with soju, grilled platter and meokte: Paldal Jutaek
In short
Paldal Jutaek is a Korean pub with outdoor tables (yajang), tucked into an alley off Gatmaesan-ro near Suwon Station in Suwon, Gyeonggi. The writer shared the signature bulnae-hanpan grilled platter (webfoot octopus, pork intestines, boneless chicken feet and pork bulgogi) with a rice ball add-on, then ordered meokte (dried pollack strips) with cheongyang mayo soy sauce for round two. Smoky platter, soju and a light meokte finish made a perfect course at Paldal Jutaek — revisit intent 200%.

It's that season when the weather's just cool enough and you start craving a cold soju after work, right? So a little while ago my friends and I went to a hot Suwon Station bar — 'Paldal Jutaek'! From the vibe to the food lineup to that drinking-friendly outdoor seating feel, it was all so on point that I wanted to share an honest review with you all!

What does Paldal Jutaek look like, and how is the outdoor seating?
Paldal Jutaek is a bar that catches your eye with a clean, retro sign as you walk into the alley near Suwon Station. The first thing that grabbed my attention was a giant soju bottle standing right at the entrance haha — my saliva glands were already going before I even stepped inside 🤤

And the real charm of Paldal Jutaek is the 'yajang' (outdoor seating) space! With wood fencing, pretty string lights, and flower decorations, it was pure sentimental pojangmacha (street tent bar) vibes. Feeling the cool night air while sipping soju out there — the drinks just kept flowing 🌿✨

How to order at Paldal Jutaek, and the free pineapple sherbet
You can order easily via kiosk at every table! And leave a Naver review to get a free pineapple sherbet!

What's in the bulnae-hanpan grilled platter, and how does it taste?
As soon as we sat down, we ordered Paldal Jutaek's signature menu, 'bulnae-hanpan.' You know how at a bar you always agonize over chicken feet vs. intestines vs. octopus? Bulnae-hanpan solves that dilemma completely! 👋👋

- The lineup: octopus + pork intestines + boneless chicken feet + pork bulgogi (all four on one platter!)
- Visuals & taste: it arrives with steam billowing off a pan piled high with crunchy bean sprouts on top 😍
The first bite hits your mouth with a deep smoky char that's genuinely artful! Chewy octopus, pork intestines with zero funky smell, spicy-sweet boneless chicken feet, and tender pork bulgogi... all four combined with the spicy sauce make it an absolutely insane soju pairing hahaha

Why the rice ball add-on is a must with the grilled platter
Once you're deep into that spicy, rich bulnae-hanpan sauce, adding a rice ball isn't a choice, it's a requirement! Make a rice ball, set it beside the platter, top it with octopus or chicken feet, and eat it together — the spiciness mellows out and the savory flavor doubles. ❣️❣️

And then a cold shot of soju, cheers~ and all your stress just flies away! The pairing of spicy bulnae-hanpan with Chamisul/Chum-Churum soju — need I say more, it was genuinely perfect 🍶
How was the meokte with cheongyang mayo soy sauce for round two?
We finished off the bulnae-hanpan completely — full, but still wanting to drink more — so we ordered Paldal Jutaek's 'meokte' for round two! But check out the visual on this meokte... it comes out really generously portioned! 👍👍

The dried pollack strips arrive crisply fried, piled up like a mountain, and dipped into the accompanying cheongyang mayo soy sauce, it's crunchy + savory + spicy all throwing a party in your mouth 💥 Starting with soju food and finishing light and clean with meokte was a perfect course.
The staff were really kind too, so we had a great time from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. From menu recommendations to how they took care of us, they were warm and thoughtful, which made us feel extra taken care of. Delicious food plus friendly service made the whole drinking session so much better. 👌👌

Is Paldal Jutaek worth it? Final thoughts
- Location & vibe: near Suwon Station, cozy and clean with genuine outdoor seating charm
- Recommended menu: no debate needed, go with bulnae-hanpan + rice ball combo, and meokte is perfect for round two!
- Revisit intent: 200%! Next time I'm planning to come back for the pork rib fried chicken or the clam jjim (steamed clams with soju) too.
If you're looking for a Suwon Station bar with great food and a good atmosphere for sipping drinks, definitely check out 'Paldal Jutaek'! I'd recommend reserving outdoor seating ahead of time or getting there a bit early 😉
