Samsong haejangguk restaurant for the morning after: Jeju Eunhui-ne

In short

Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch is a haejangguk (hangover soup) and tripe soup restaurant a 5-minute walk from Samsong Station Exit 3, near Starfield Goyang. On a Friday around noon after a work dinner the night before, the visit covered haejangguk at 12,000 won, naejangtang (tripe soup) at 13,000 won and the half-and-half set of dombe pork and yangmuchim (seasoned tripe salad) at 20,000 won, plus a staff tip to stir minced garlic into the broth. The dadegi chili paste makes the soup slightly hot for anyone sensitive to spice, so ask for it on the side, and rice is free with one dish per person.

My stomach was in absolute chaos this morning after last week's no-holds-barred work dinner, haha.

A bowl of Samsong hangover soup enjoyed the day after a work dinner

I desperately needed a proper bowl of Samsong-style hangover soup!! Luckily my team lead, a devoted naejangtang (tripe soup) lover, threw me a lifeline for lunch and I sped over at the speed of light~!!

Storefront of Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch

Where we went to cure our hangover today is Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch, already famous as a Goyang Starfield hotspot!! It's a legit local favorite known for generous portions and a bold, spicy broth, so I was full of anticipation before even walking in.

Inside Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong: seating and atmosphere

We arrived right around noon on a Friday and the place was already packed with customers~!! Definitely gave off that proper hotspot vibe!! The exterior was so clean and stylish that it passed the first impression test immediately.

Once inside, the ceilings were surprisingly high and the space was much bigger than it looked from outside~ The tables also had plenty of spacing, making it perfect for office lunches or family meals!

Dining hall seating with generous spacing

Solo diners seemed to be welcomed just as warmly, so eating alone here would be totally fine~!! Right at the entrance, the wall was completely covered with celebrity autographs~~

Just seeing that made it clear this is a real Samsong hotspot~!! Haha. Even during the busy lunch rush, the staff greeted us so brightly and kindly that it put me in a great mood.

Jeju Eunhui-ne Goyang Samsong menu and prices

The main menu is basic haejangguk, naejangtang, and dombe pork, plus side dishes... sadly the hanchi mulhoe (raw squid cold soup) was already out of season ㅜㅜ

What is on the menu board

  • Haejangguk: ₩12,000
  • Naejangtang: ₩13,000
  • Dombe pork small (120g): ₩13,000 / medium (240g): ₩24,000 / large (360g): ₩35,000
  • [New menu] Braised hairtail: ₩15,000
  • Side - Yangmuchim: ₩16,000
  • Side - Hanchi mulhoe [season ended]: ₩16,000
  • Side - Seonjitang (add-on order): ₩3,000

At first I planned to just have haejangguk to settle my stomach, but since we were going for it anyway, we ordered generously to eat until stuffed!

What we ordered that day

  • Haejangguk: ₩12,000
  • Naejangtang: ₩13,000
  • Dombe pork + yangmuchim set: ₩20,000

Our tripe-loving team lead picked the deep, rich naejangtang without a moment's hesitation, and I went with the classic, most iconic option: piping hot haejangguk!!

Curious about the yangmuchim, we also added the combo set that comes with dombe pork and spicy yangmuchim together! For just a few thousand more won than a single dish, you get to try both the meat and the seasoned tripe — feels like the essential, budget-friendly combo!

How is the dombe pork and yangmuchim half-and-half set?

The ₩20,000 dombe pork + yangmuchim set arrived first, not long after ordering, and my jaw dropped at the visuals!! The dombe pork, neatly sliced on a wooden cutting board, had a truly perfect ratio of lean meat to fat~

Combo set of dombe pork and spicy yangmuchim

Thinly sliced with zero funky smell, it just melted softly in my mouth. Dipped in salted shrimp with a bit of garlic — my true love — and wrapped in lettuce, it was the ultimate in clean, savory flavor!

And the yangmuchim (seasoned tripe salad) I was curious about — wow, it was so good I nearly fainted!! The chewy tripe tossed in a sweet, tangy, spicy sauce was such a special dish that one bite had me going 'this is insanely good,' haha.

A magical flavor that made me think of last night's drinks again, even though I came here to cure a hangover! Still, I held back and ate it with the chewy black rice, which turned out to be a total rice thief!

A bowl of chewy black rice

What is in the haejangguk and tripe soup, and how spicy is it?

Getting healthy black rice instead of plain white rice made me feel extra pampered!! Then the haejangguk and naejangtang arrived bubbling in stone pots, piled high with a mountain of green onions — visually explosive!!

Peeking in with a spoon, the pots were packed full of crisp bean sprouts, beef, glass noodles, seonji (congealed ox blood), and soft ugeoji (napa cabbage leaves).

Haejangguk ingredients including bean sprouts, seonji, and ugeoji

I'm a seonji fanatic, and the big, fresh pieces were tender and jiggly like pudding with no dryness at all, so I inhaled them~!! The meat wasn't tough either — soft and tender in every bite, truly a work of art.

Haejangguk broth turned red after adding dadegi

Stirring in the dadegi (spicy chili paste) hidden inside turns the broth bold and bright red, and it was a little spicy for me as a spice wimp, haha. If you can't handle spice well, just ask for the dadegi on the side when ordering. It's less spicy than Shin Ramyun though.

Scooping up ingredient after ingredient without pause, before I knew it only broth was left at the bottom, haha. Last night's alcohol came right out with the sweat, and my stomach felt completely settled~ I really understood why this Goyang Starfield hotspot is so famous.

The minced garlic tip that doubles the broth's flavor

Oh right! A staff member at Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch told us a great tip — stirring minced garlic into the stone pot completely transforms the broth's flavor!!

Once the garlic was stirred in, a sharp, pungent aroma spread through and the umami exploded — it really brought out the full depth of this famous Samsong restaurant's broth.

Seokbakji radish kimchi in a table jar

The crunchy seokbakji (young radish kimchi) in the table jar paired perfectly with the broth too — I lost count of how many times I reached for it. And here's the real kicker: ordering one dish per person gets you a free rice refill, so it's highly recommended for anyone wanting to eat their fill, haha.

If you want a truly proper bowl of haejangguk, this is an absolute must-visit! Jeju Eunhui-ne was pure hangover relief and comfort — a certified Goyang Starfield hotspot~
