Suwon café with sofa seats and peach oolong: Hongrad Mangpo Station

After eating near Mangpo Station, I was looking for a café nearby and ended up at Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch. ☕️ Whenever I had plans in Mangpo, I always went to the same cafés, so I wanted to try somewhere new that day. Then I found Hongrad! I had no idea there was a café with this kind of atmosphere in Mangpo—I wondered why I was only finding out now, haha.

What are the sofa seats and private cubicles like?

When I choose a café, I really care about whether the chairs are comfortable. Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch had plush sofa seats, though. I visited after work and was tired, but they were so comfortable I nearly fell asleep, hahaha.

There were also partitioned spaces for one person. People were using them to study, and I loved that a café like this is right in front of Mangpo Station. The seats felt private, so they looked great for café studying or personal work. 💻 The chairs were sofas too, and they looked comfortable enough for sitting a long time!

It looked nice for couples to visit, and the atmosphere was also good for coming to chat with friends. I think this is where I’ll come for coffee whenever I have plans in Mangpo now, haha.

Cute items to browse, too

Looking around the café, I could really feel the owner’s eye for aesthetics. ✨ The interior was stylish, and they were selling cute little items too.

I found out that Hongrad’s main branch is the Haenggung branch. Maybe that’s why they were selling such cute items, haha.

The selection was quite varied, from coffee and Einspänner to non-coffee drinks, tea, and desserts. I spent ages deciding what to get. 😂

Ex-Boyfriend Toast and peach oolong taste

The café atmosphere was nice, but the dessert was even more satisfying than I expected! Ex-Boyfriend Toast combines cream cheese, blueberry jam, toast, and ice cream, and it was tastier than I expected. I loved that the toast had a crisp, waffle-like texture. 🤤

The peach oolong, one of their best sellers, was delicious too. 🍑 It is oolong tea with a light peach aroma, and it was not overly sweet, so it was easy to drink. It felt somehow healthy and delicious, haha.

An even cozier seat with blankets

They also had blankets ready in the café. Sitting on the sofa with a blanket over me was seriously so comfortable. 😂 The blanket even smelled nice, so I just wanted to take a little nap right there... hahaha.

A photo zone for taking pictures

Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch also had a photo zone that was great for taking pictures. 📸 I think this space is probably Hongrad’s signature photo zone.

Finding the way up to the fourth floor on your first visit

And if it is your first visit, you might think, “Huh? Is this the right place?” 😂 Take the elevator in the photo up to the fourth floor, and you will find Hongrad Mangpo Station Branch!

Morning Kaya Toast time sale

Oh, and from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., they also have a Kaya Toast + Americano sale. ☕️ It seemed like it would be a nice place to do some café studying over a morning coffee, too.

I especially want to recommend this place to anyone like me who thinks comfortable café chairs are important! I think I will visit again next time I have plans in Mangpo, haha. ☕️
