In short
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Songcheon-dong Eco City Branch is a Korean restaurant in Songcheon-dong, Jeonju, serving chicken kalguksu and chicken gomtang. I tried its clear Eonyang-style noodles, spicy perilla-seed noodles, bubbling chicken soup, and silbi kimchi. A satisfying choice when you are craving a warm, rich broth.

I was craving a warm, rich broth. So I headed to Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Songcheon-dong Eco City Branch, a well-known spot in Jeonju's Songcheon-dong for chicken kalguksu and chicken gomtang. Here is my honest review after a seriously nourishing meal!!

Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Songcheon-dong Eco City Branch: location and atmosphere
The address is 230 Songcheonjungang-ro, Deokjin-gu, Jeonju. It is open from 11:00 to 21:00. Near Songcheon-dong Eco City, it has a spacious parking lot and private rooms.

It is easy to find on the main road opposite the Songcheon-dong Lotte Cinema. The lot in front was large, so parking was easy. Inside, the restaurant was spacious and tidy, with generous space between tables for a comfortable meal. There are also private rooms further in, so it looked like a great option for a family meal or a group gathering.

A spread of chicken kalguksu and chicken gomtang
I wanted to try a range of dishes, so I ordered a little of everything.
- Chicken gomtang (rich chicken soup)
- Spicy chicken kalguksu (knife-cut noodles)
- Eonyang-style kalguksu
- Chewy dumplings

Clear and mild Eonyang-style kalguksu
This was the basic chicken kalguksu, with a clear, clean broth. Its mild, refreshing flavor made it easy for both children and adults to enjoy. I also liked that you can add broth separately if you prefer a lighter seasoning. It was not thick or heavy.

Chewy dumplings alongside the kalguksu
The chewy dumplings were generously filled. Having them with the kalguksu made the meal twice as satisfying.

Spicy chicken kalguksu in perilla-seed broth
The spicy chicken kalguksu paired nutty perilla-seed-based broth with a pleasantly spicy kick. The combination of chewy house-made noodles and tender chicken was so good!! The chicken was wonderfully soft and tender.

Chicken gomtang served bubbling in an earthenware pot
The milky-white broth arrived bubbling in a ttukbaegi (earthenware pot). One spoonful revealed such a rich, deep flavor. It felt like having a bowl of restorative tonic soup.

The self-service bar and silbi kimchi
Another star here was the silbi kimchi, a spicy kimchi said to be made in-house every day. It was a perfect match for both the kalguksu and gomtang. You can help yourself to extra side dishes at the self-service bar, where fresh chili peppers are available too.

When you are craving a warm broth
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu was a great chicken kalguksu spot, with excellent rich broth and chewy noodles. It is a place for a hearty, delicious meal in a clean, spacious setting. If you are craving a warm broth in Jeonju's Songcheon-dong, I recommend Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Songcheon-dong Eco City Branch.
