When your feet start hurting while walking around Jeonju Hanok Village
My mom and I went to Jeonju for this summer vacation 🤎

There is so much to see in every alley of Jeonju Hanok Village, and since we only had a short two-day, one-night itinerary, we were out and about nonstop from the crack of dawn.

By afternoon, my feet were gradually starting to hurt and my energy was beginning to dip.

I considered going back to the hotel for a bit, but I felt like once we went in, we would never come back out...

So while looking for somewhere we could rest and shake off the fatigue in a short time, we visited Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang (안마족욕카페전망) :)
Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang in the heart of the hanok village
Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang is right in the center of the hanok village, on an easily accessible street you are bound to pass at least once while sightseeing.

Photos from TV features were posted in front of the entrance, and it seemed to be a place that has appeared on various broadcasts and YouTube content.

Follow the stairs up to the second floor and you will find the entrance. Inside, the distinctive wooden structure of a hanok was still visible, which made for a lovely atmosphere.

When you enter, first take off your shoes and socks and change into the indoor slippers provided.

There are separate lockers for bags and belongings, so we put everything away to free up our hands, then sat down at the seats we were shown to.
A 30-minute peppermint foot bath with a massage device
Once you are seated, the first thing you can do is choose your foot bath additive. There are three kinds: peppermint, rose, and lavender!

You can choose according to your preference, and we both went with peppermint.
After choosing your additive, you simply put your feet straight into the foot bath filled with warm water.

We did the 30-minute course, and it was not just a foot bath—they also set us up with a shoulder massage device. It felt genuinely more refreshing than I expected, and they said it can be used not only on the shoulders but wherever you want, such as the back or stomach.

With my feet soaking warmly and my shoulders being worked by the massage device, it felt like the fatigue that had built up since morning was slowly melting away. They even gave us blankets, and as I sat still like that, I got sleepier and sleepier 💤
Hanok village views with a drink
You can also choose one drink each to have while you soak your feet.

They had Americano, ramie leaf tea, persimmon leaf mint tea, burdock tea, iced tea, and more. I chose lemon iced tea, while my mom chose ramie leaf tea. We were so thirsty too, so being able to drink while having a foot bath was killing two birds with one stone!

And once we sat down, I understood why it is called “Jeonmang,” meaning “view.” Jeonju Hanok Village stretched out below the window, and it felt completely different from seeing it while constantly walking around.

With my feet nice and warm, the massage device on my shoulders, a cool iced tea in hand, and the hanok village below me, it was a moment that made the fact that I was traveling in Jeonju feel even more real.

There were Jeonju tourist brochures (?) on the table too, so while resting we looked up where to go next. (There are just too many things I want to eat in Jeonju 😆)

There was also foot cream on one side to add some moisture after you finish.

A great 30-minute rest stop during a trip
I wondered if 30 minutes might be a little short, but once we tried it, it was actually just the right amount of time for a break in the middle of our trip.

If we rested too long, I thought we might get sluggish and not want to go back out. But warming up our feet in the foot bath and giving our shoulders a refreshing massage made our bodies feel much lighter, even in that short time!

Jeonju Hanok Village especially involves a lot of walking, so if you are traveling with your parents or planning to see several places in one day, I think it would be nice to build in a break like this.

I also loved that, unlike a regular Jeonju Hanok Village café where you only have a drink, you can enjoy a foot bath, massage, and drink all at once.

If, like us, you have been exploring enthusiastically and your feet are starting to ache, take a little break at Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang.

Thanks to it, we could recharge and continue our fun Jeonju trip without even taking a nap 🛁
