Lately I've been keeping my mid-length style but just wearing it straight felt a bit boring, so after some thought I decided to try a vintage perm this time haha. I went to Yeum Hair Bundang Jeongja Branch — it's about 5 minutes from Jeongja Station Exit 3, so pretty convenient to reach by public transit :)

The building is Baekgung Plaza 1, and you can find Yeum Hair on the 4th floor. If you're already near Jeongja Station for other plans, it's a pretty good route to swing by for a haircut too~~

The first thing I noticed walking in was how clean everything was overall! The space is tidy and the interior is neat, so I could relax comfortably during my time there haha.

This time at Yeum Hair Bundang Jeongja Branch, I got a heat perm + vintage perm for mid-length hair✨ The designer in charge was senior designer Moa!🫶🏻

After I described the style I wanted, we went through a consultation, and instead of just copying the reference photo exactly, she styled it in a trendy way that suited my hair. Even with the same perm, the mood can change a lot depending on how the curl is set••! So this time I wanted to bring out a vintage feel that suited mid-length hair without looking overdone, and I think the result turned out exactly the direction I wanted haha.

Before the service, my old perm had completely fallen out of my mid-length hair, so overall I wasn't too happy with it ㅜ,ㅜ,,,, But I was quietly excited thinking that adding some curl here would totally change the mood haha.

This perm was done as a heat perm! The whole process went smoothly, and she made sure I was comfortable throughout, so I could relax during the service haha.

Above all, she was so friendly that even during the long service time, I never felt burdened😊

No product hard sell, and a careful finishing blow-dry at Yeum Hair

One thing I really liked about Yeum Hair was how thorough the styling was. It wasn't just perm and done — she finished with a proper blow-dry, so I could really see the completed style.

Another thing I liked about Yeum Hair was that she directly told me which products she used! Usually when salons tell you that, you expect a product recommendation pitch to follow, but here there was zero pushy sales vibe haha. In fact, for things like curl cream, she honestly said I didn't need to bother with expensive ones. Rather than just recommending pricey products across the board, she talked to me based on what actually suited my hair, which made the consultation feel comfortable😊

I especially liked how trendy the styling turned out. Even with the same mid-length hair, the mood changes depending on curl direction and volume, and she brought out the vintage feel I wanted without making it look overly puffed up.

How did the finished mid-length vintage perm curl turn out?

Ta-da~~✨ Here's the finished mid-length vintage perm! Compared to before, the mood completely changed once the curl went in haha. It kept the light, airy feel that's typical of mid-length hair while adding curl, so even just wearing it loose looked styled — I really liked that.

From the side too, the curl flowed naturally and the overall silhouette looked pretty. Personally I'm not a fan of perms that end up too tightly curled, but this time it came close to the look I wanted, so I was satisfied.

With the perm in, I could tell it'll be much easier to style my hair in the mornings too.

And of course, after getting your hair done, you can't not take a selfie lol. I took a few photos in the salon, and taking them right after the service made the curls look even prettier haha. What I realized doing this mid-length vintage perm is how important it is for a designer to understand the style you want and translate it to suit your hair. In that sense, senior designer Moa really nailed the look I wanted, and finishing with a thorough blow-dry was the cherry on top🙌🏻😻

There was also a massage chair in the salon, which was a nice touch🥹 Having an amenity to relax on during breaks while getting your hair done was surprisingly nice haha.

Overall, the salon was clean, the staff were kind, and the styling came out exactly the trendy look I wanted, so it was a satisfying visit. Being about 5 minutes from Jeongja Station Exit 3 made it easy to reach by public transit, and since it's in Baekgung Plaza 1, parking was also convenient if you're driving!

This mid-length vintage perm gave me a slightly different mood from my usual style thanks to the added curl, and I really liked it.
