In short

A Sunday lunch visit meant a 5-minute wait before being seated, and the tenderloin cutlet called Kkot Gatsu (15,000 won) and the loin cutlet (14,000 won) were dipped in turn in truffle salt, lemon salt and wasabi, with truffle oil and cumin sauce from the self-serve bar. Wood-tone exterior and where you wait
Let me show you the exterior first :) The wood-tone decor gave off serious Japanese pork cutlet shop vibes ❣️ Clean but warm — I liked it from the first impression ˃̵ᴗ˂̵
There's also a waiting area in front of the store, so you can sit while you wait!

How long was the Sunday lunch wait at Kkot Gatsu?
I visited Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch during Sunday lunch and only waited about 5 minutes before getting seated. Walking in, the place was packed with customers....!!👀 The interior was spacious and clean, with tables ranging from 2-seaters to 4-seaters, so it seemed good for dates, family meals, or hangouts with friends :) There was a wait, but it moved faster than I expected!

By the way, Kkot Gatsu lets you queue remotely through the Table Order app, so it's a good idea to put your name in before you arrive. Also, when waiting you have to choose your menu in advance, so I'd recommend deciding roughly what you want beforehand!! There's a separate seated waiting area inside the store too, so waiting is comfortable :)

What's on the menu at Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch
The menu ranges from tenderloin, loin, premium loin, and cheese cutlet to chicken cutlet and fish cutlet, plus set menus that pair a cutlet with wagyu udon or plain udon! There are also sides like cold soba, curry udon, and flower shrimp tempura, along with drinks and alcohol(๑˃̵ᴗ˂̵)و,
We ordered the signature Kkot Gatsu (tenderloin cutlet) and the loin cutlet 😋

What's on the self-serve bar
While waiting for the food, I checked out the self-serve bar 👀 There were dipping sauces, pickles, pickled chili, dried radish strips, and extra utensils, all neatly arranged ₊˚⊹♡ What I liked most was that there were even self-serve takeout containers for leftovers! That kind of thoughtful touch is so nice haha
After a short wait, both the tenderloin and loin cutlets arrived ˃̵ᴗ˂̵ It wasn't just the cutlets — the tray came fully loaded with black sesame salad, rice, and miso soup too!
A spread that looked good from the moment it was plated ᰔᩚ Now let's actually dig into the cutlets!
Kkot Gatsu (tenderloin cutlet), 15,000 won
The signature Kkot Gatsu (tenderloin cutlet) at Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch is ₩15,000, and you get three thick chunks of tenderloin cutlet. I tried the tenderloin cutlet first — even just looking at it, the meat looked juicy inside (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧ The breading was golden and crispy, and you could see a soft pink hue through the thick meat, so it looked like it'd be tender even before I took a bite 💖

I tried it with just a little wasabi on top, and it really was as tender as it looked٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و The meat itself was clean and moist, so the sharp kick of wasabi paired perfectly with it 💖 And dipping it in the truffle salt and lemon salt that came with it, each one had a different charm, so it was fun picking between them!

The dried radish strips and pickled chili, which aren't part of the basic side dishes, I grabbed from the self-serve bar — they're great when the cutlet starts feeling a bit heavy haha Also, out of curiosity I grabbed truffle oil and cumin sauce, and dabbing them lightly on the cutlet, both went really well with it!! Especially the truffle oil — it felt like truffle was twerking in my mouth ㅠ💃🏻 If you love truffle, you have to try dipping it in this!
Loin cutlet, 14,000 won

The loin cutlet is ₩14,000, and this time it was my boyfriend's order! The loin cutlet also looked juicy and tender inside, and the breading looked super crispy just from looking at it! A proper crispy-outside, juicy-inside visual ✨(ง˙∇˙)ว
I stole a piece and tried it with a wasabi-plus-salt combo! ✨ It was definitely a different texture from the tenderloin cutlet! Thanks to the fat layer, the savory flavor and chewiness really came through ㅠㅠ Crispy outside, juicy inside — the real deal,, I also tried the black sesame salad on top of the cutlet, and the nutty flavor added to it made this combo delicious too! 😋
My boyfriend's own life hack ㅋㅋㅋㅋ If putting wasabi on each piece is too much of a hassle, mix it into the sauce instead — he said the spicy wasabi and sauce combo is the best ㄱㅋㄱㅋㄱ (spoiler: it was actually tastier than expected)

Why a sauce person switched to dipping in salt
I'm a hardcore sauce person (I prefer old-school Western-style cutlets over katsu), but Kkot Gatsu's pork cutlets were actually better dipped in salt!!! I especially loved the truffle salt and went to grab more, but it wasn't on the self-serve bar?! Don't panic if that happens — just ask the staff and they'll bring you some, so keep that in mind!! The miso soup that came with it was clean and savory too, totally my style ദ്ദി ˃ ᴗ ˂ )✨
It just disappeared, slurp by slurp...
When the plate gets this clean, doesn't that mean it was delicious?!ㅋㅋㅋ♡ Both the tenderloin and loin cutlets were satisfying in their own different ways, so I'll definitely be running back here whenever I'm craving pork cutlet hahaha

By the way, they're also running a Naver receipt review event! Writing a regular review gets you a free drink, and a photo review gets you free cheese balls or beer!! Eat well, write a review, and get a freebie too — sounds good, right?! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
