Goyang bakery café with a scallion cream cheese bagel: Baedagol

As the weather started cooling down little by little, I found myself wanting a café with outdoor space instead of just staying indoors!

So this time I went to Baedagol Bakery House in Wondang, Goyang ෆ The indoor space was spacious and the outdoor garden was really well put together, so it turned out to be better than I expected. It's a great spot to visit with parents or to sit and relax on a nice day, so let me share the review with some photos :)

Where is Baedagol Bakery House, and where do you park?

Baedagol Bakery House is located not far from Wondang Station. Driving there, it felt like heading a bit toward the outskirts, so it had a quieter feel than a city-center café. Even though I visited on a weekday afternoon, there were more customers than I expected, so it seems like a place a lot of people already know about.

If you're visiting by car, you don't need to worry too much about parking. There's Parking Lot 1 right in front of the café, so park there first, and if Lot 1 is full, Lots 2 and 3 are available separately.

Inside the first floor at Baedagol Bakery House

Walking in, the interior space is bigger than I expected. The wood-tone furniture and warm lighting blended together for a comfortable, cozy overall atmosphere, and the large windows let the outside scenery in too.

There were tables in various sizes, so it looked fine whether you're visiting as two or as a bigger group. The tables weren't packed too tightly together overall, so it felt like a comfortable place to hang out.

How wide is the bread selection?

And of course, when you come to a bakery café, you can't skip checking out the bread haha. Baedagol Bakery House has bread lined up along one side, and the variety was really more than I expected.

From sweet desserts to plain, simple bread, there was such a variety that I kept picking up one thing after another. Personally, I sometimes find it a bit disappointing when a big café only has a few bread options, but this place truly lived up to its name as a 'bakery house,' with the fun of actually choosing among a lot of breads.

Second-floor interior and private room seats

After looking around the 1st floor, I went up to the 2nd floor, and the atmosphere changed completely from there. Honestly, I was a bit surprised once I got up there. It was quiet and spacious overall, but above all, the view through the windows was so pretty.

The window seats were great for sitting and looking out at the scenery, and it had a relaxed feel that seemed like it wouldn't feel cramped even with a lot of people around. The private room space set up further inside was especially impressive too.

Even inside the room, you could still see the view through the window, so the space itself felt really pretty. It looked like a good place to talk quietly, and with the view added on, the atmosphere was so much better. Personally, among the cafés I've visited lately, I felt the 2nd floor space here was one of the prettiest. Spacious, quiet, and with a great view, I really want to recommend everyone go up to the 2nd floor too!

The second-floor outdoor terrace

Stepping outside from the 2nd floor, there's also an outdoor terrace space. This spot seemed like it would be really popular on a nice-weather day.

It had a great atmosphere for sitting and sipping a coffee while looking out at the scenery. If the 1st floor garden feels a bit more cozy and detailed, the 2nd floor terrace felt more open, so the mood was a little different in each space even within the same café.

Back down to the 1st floor! One of the spaces I liked best was the outdoor garden. There were so many plants and trees in front of the café, with tables set up here and there, so it felt like coming to visit a small garden.

There were also lots of flowers among the greenery, so it was a great photo spot everywhere I looked. Since the layout isn't something you can take in all at once, it was set up so you can wander around bit by bit, which made exploring it fun too. On days like these when it's not too hot or too cold, sitting outdoors instead of indoors seems just as good, if not better. I grabbed a seat outside too ෆ

What we ordered: scallion cream cheese bagel, hazelnut ambutter and sausage danish

We ordered 2 Americanos along with hazelnut ambutter, sausage danish, and scallion cream cheese bagel. Normally when I go to a café, I tend to pick just one bread to have with my coffee. But on this day, every single piece of bread on display looked delicious, so I ended up picking three haha.

Overall, none of it was too sweet or too strongly flavored — the seasoning was just right, so it was easy to eat without feeling heavy.

The hazelnut ambutter (bread with sweetened butter) was nutty with a mild sweetness, and the sausage danish was salty in a way that paired well with the Americano. The scallion cream cheese bagel had cream cheese that wasn't overpowering, with a subtle scallion aroma, and I ate it happily. Overall, it seemed like a flavor profile my parents would enjoy too, so I want to try other breads next time!

What stayed with me most about Baedagol Bakery House wasn't just the large bread selection, but how varied the spaces were — indoor areas, an outdoor garden, and a terrace. With so many plants in the garden, it must be even prettier in a season with nice weather like now. If you're visiting with a kid, taking your parents out for a café outing, or looking for a good-sized bakery café around Wondang, it's worth checking out :D
