Jeonju Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi
Today I'm introducing a great date-spot restaurant in Jeonju's Hanok Village, Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi (한옥마을물갈비)! I was looking for a dish you can only enjoy in Jeonju and found this place serving 'mulgalbi' (water-braised galbi), so I went to check it out haha. I'll walk you through parking, the atmosphere, and the food below 😘
What does Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi look like from outside?
Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi is a representative Jeonbuk-style mulgalbi specialty restaurant. The exterior is really stylish and pretty, right??

I went during a trip, and the place is so pretty it really added to the travel vibe even while eating haha
Where to park at Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi in Jeonju Hanok Village
There are a few parking spots in front of the restaurant, and it's also really close to the back gate of Jeonju Hanok Village Public Parking Lot No. 1~

Arrive at opening on a weekday and walk straight in
At Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi, if it's full you write your name in a waitlist notebook! We visited on a weekday, basically right at opening, so we got seated right away haha. Shall we head inside?

A TV-famous Jeonju Hanok Village restaurant that's even been featured on SBS's Live Today!!

The inside of the Jeonju Hanok Village mulgalbi restaurant is clean and bright overall! There were lots of tables too :) The spacing between tables is generous so you can eat comfortably.

Through the glass windows you can see a lush green garden and blue sky~ sitting by the window was totally the right call!

Baby chairs are available too, so families with kids can eat comfortably :) Aprons are provided as well, just so you know.
The menu and the two-person minimum
The Korean menu at Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi is simple!! Looking at the main dishes, there's a single-order galbi hot pot as well as a galbi hot pot set that includes yukjeon :) Menu items require an order of 2 or more people, and there are extra side dishes, extra add-ins, and desserts too.

While waiting, you should also read the tips on how to enjoy the galbi hot pot best haha: 'If you want it spicy, cut up some cheongyang chili peppers and add them in.'

Galbi hot pot set for two at 22,000 won
We ordered two of the galbi hot pot set at ₩22,000 each. A generously loaded spread of Jeonju-style mulgalbi!

Ta-da~!! Since we ordered the galbi hot pot set, yukjeon came along too~ let me show you each item :)

Side dishes and yukjeon (pan-fried beef)
- Basic side dishes: seasoned chives, kimchi, bean sprouts, seasoned chili peppers
- Lettuce, pickles, ssamjang (dipping sauce), garlic
- Steamed rice is separate (just ₩1,000)
The tender 'premium yukjeon' is made with a special seasoning, light yet packed full of juicy flavor!! Really soft and nutty~~ Eaten together with mulgalbi, the combination is amazing haha.

How to cook the mulgalbi at your table
The galbi hot pot, made with top-quality natural ingredients like fruit, lets you experience real 'Jeonju-style mulgalbi' — it comes out loaded with toppings~! First, let it boil vigorously for about 5 minutes!
The meat hidden underneath the glass noodles should be arranged in a circle around the edge of the pot so it cooks faster!! First time trying mulgalbi so I was so excited~

There's also plenty of vegetables like bean sprouts and mushrooms~ ah, if you like spicy food, ask for cheongyang chili peppers separately to add for a more deliciously spicy kick haha.

Can you see how generous it looks? This mulgalbi is packed to the brim! The seasoning and the thick, scored galbi are seriously delicious haha. Put a piece on top of rice for a bite, or wrap it in lettuce for even more flavor~ I ate really well and left satisfied :)
Is Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi worth it?
Today I shared my visit to 'Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi,' a great date-spot restaurant in Jeonju~ I got to try Jeonju-style mulgalbi and the food was so delicious, especially since mulgalbi plus yukjeon is basically a meat-plus-meat combo I loved. The interior is pretty too, making this a great spot to visit while traveling in Jeonju or on a date~ Come enjoy some Korean food at Jeonju's 'Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi' sometime~!
