Jeonju Korean restaurant with a baby: mulgalbi for two at Hanok Maeul

I've been to Jeonju so many times, so why did it take me this long to finally try mulgalbi... I genuinely regretted it after eating haha. Why did nobody tell me to eat mulgalbi when I go to Jeonju...?

This time in Jeonju Hanok Village, I visited Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi, which had a great vibe from the outside and super friendly staff! If you're looking for a good Korean restaurant in Jeonju Hanok Village, mulgalbi is worth trying — here's our review :)

Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi: what the restaurant looks like and where to park

Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi is on Dongmun-gil, near Jeonju Hanok Village, so maybe that's why the exterior had such a strong Jeonju feel — I loved it right away! When you travel to Jeonju you end up looking for exactly this kind of atmosphere haha. And parking is available too!

There were quite a lot of customers inside, so I couldn't take detailed photos, sorry! Even though it wasn't a typical mealtime, people kept coming in! I guess there's a reason busy Jeonju Hanok Village restaurants are busy haha.

What three of us ordered with a baby: mulgalbi for two, rice and yukjeon

That day we visited Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi with our baby and my husband, three of us, and ordered mulgalbi for two, a bowl of rice, and yukjeon too. Choosing a menu when eating out with a baby is always a bit of a puzzle, so this time we added yukjeon to the order.

Even the basic side dishes came out neat and every single one was delicious! Jeolla-do food really is... just amazing,,, oh yes,,, haha. Picking at the side dishes one by one somehow made the rice keep disappearing.

Pork yukjeon, the dish the baby liked most

Here's what we ordered! Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi's yukjeon (meat pancake) is made with pork, and it was lighter and tastier than I expected. Most of all, our baby genuinely loved it haha.

When you eat out with a baby, having at least one dish the little one can eat too makes a mom's heart so much lighter... this time, thanks to the yukjeon, the baby got to enjoy the meal with us too :)

And finally, the star of the show, mulgalbi! It comes out with glass noodles prettily piled on top, and the visuals alone earned a pass haha. When it looks this good, taking a photo first is basically the rule, right...?

How does the mulgalbi taste? Glass noodles and meat over rice

Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi's mulgalbi comes bubbling away, and once the glass noodles and meat were fully cooked, we tried a scoop of white rice with the mulgalbi... wow... it was genuinely so good???

But the funny thing is, it was already good on the first bite, and it just kept getting better the more we ate haha. Eating it together with rice made the sauce, meat, and noodles combo click perfectly. No wonder people keep saying mulgalbi, mulgalbi as a must-eat Korean restaurant in Jeonju Hanok Village!

What made eating out with a baby easy at Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi

The food was delicious that day, but what really stuck with me was how kind the staff were...! I'm not sure if it was the owner or an employee, but they were seriously so, so kind.

Especially since they played so well with the baby, I actually got to eat a proper, real meal for once while eating out haha. Usually when we go to restaurants with the baby, we barely eat anything and rush out in a daze, but this time, thanks to them, I could eat at ease too. And the result was...

Honestly, at the end I wanted to finish it off with fried rice too... but thanks to my husband's small appetite, I had to give up on the fried rice with tears in my eyes haha. Next time we go to Jeonju, I'm making sure to get the fried rice too.

Is mulgalbi near Jeonju Hanok Village worth it with a baby?

I've been to Jeonju quite often, so why did it take me this long to try mulgalbi... after finally eating it, I felt almost a little wronged haha. If you're near Jeonju Hanok Village looking for good Korean food and you like mulgalbi, it's worth a visit.

Most of all, what I loved was how kindly they treated our family visiting with a baby. This was our review of Hanok Maeul Mulgalbi in Jeonju, where we ate well and left in a good mood :) Honestly,, this is one of the best meals I've had in Jeonju...! haha.
