Suwon sushi restaurant with beef tartare tataki: Teukbyeolhan Chobap
In short
Teukbyeolhan Chobap is a second-floor conveyor-belt sushi restaurant on Cheongmyeongnam-ro in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon, where every plate is a flat 1,890 won. Arriving at 5:30 p.m., the writer and her mother worked through 19 plates between them, including flounder, salmon belly, steak sushi and yukhoe tataki (seared beef tartare sushi), ordering straight from the menu rather than waiting for the belt. Value for money and instant made-to-order sushi are Teukbyeolhan Chobap's two biggest strengths.

Sushi lovers, listen up!! 👀 The two of us ate a whopping 19 plates of sushi in one sitting this day, haha. At first I wondered if ₩1,890 a plate could really be any good, but as we kept eating, the plates just kept piling up... To cut to the chase: great value and fresh sushi, and I left satisfied.

Where is Teukbyeolhan Chobap? Second floor on Cheongmyeongnam-ro in Yeongtong
Teukbyeolhan Chobap is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor of a building at 25 Cheongmyeongnam-ro in Yeongtong-gu, Suwon. The storefront makes it obvious it's a sushi place even from the street, so it wasn't hard to find.

See that, right on the 2nd floor? Hahaha, it catches your eye instantly! Teukbyeolhan Chobap! Once you ride the elevator up, the whole space felt clean and easy to walk into without any pressure. Since I was really craving sushi that day, I think I just naturally walked faster from the entrance, haha.

Parking at Teukbyeolhan Chobap: a free 1-hour coupon with your meal
Parking was convenient since you can use the lot inside the building. And if you eat a meal, you get a 1-hour free parking coupon — factoring in the turnaround time, you really get about 1 hour 20 minutes, which was plenty for a meal. Parking can be surprisingly stressful when you're driving around Yeongtong, so I really appreciated this part.
Inside the restaurant and the wait: full house by 5:45 p.m.
Teukbyeolhan Chobap is a sushi restaurant in Yeongtong, Gyeonggi. I arrived around 5:30pm that day. When I first walked in, only about 3 tables were occupied, which felt reasonably moderate!

But here's the really surprising part...

By around 5:45, it was almost completely full! Wow!! If I'd been just 15 minutes later, I might have had to wait!! Haha, customers started pouring in and soon people were taking waiting tickets and standing by.
Inside, the tables and seats were arranged around the sushi conveyor rail. Most importantly, the cleanliness of the restaurant — something I always pay attention to — was solid, which gave me a good first impression. Since a sushi place serves raw food, a clean interior puts me extra at ease. The staff were friendly too, so I ate comfortably the whole time without any hassle.
It felt like a fine spot for a date, and just as easy to visit alone. There was also a family table with a kid, and it looked like a comfortable place to bring children too. Oh!!!! By the way, they do have baby chairs!!
Menu and prices: order any sushi you want on the spot
The most striking thing about Teukbyeolhan Chobap is that every single plate is a flat ₩1,890. And you don't have to wait for the rail — you can look at the menu and request whatever sushi you want right away.

There was one thing here I really loved. The sushi keeps spinning around on the rail, right? At conveyor-belt sushi places, sometimes the sushi you want just never shows up. So you wait, and wait some more... and end up grabbing something else instead, haha. But here, you can just check the menu and ask for exactly what you want. Say 'flounder sushi, please' and they make it right away; say 'sea bream belly, please' and they make that right away too. This was honestly way more convenient than I expected.
When I first saw the prices, I thought, this is a great-value spot!! I'll talk about the taste below~

They had the basic side dishes ready to go alongside the sushi. Cleansing your palate with pickled ginger between bites made each new piece of sushi feel fresh again. Soy sauce and wasabi were available to season to taste too. Having these basics neatly prepared let me focus on the sushi itself.
19 plates for two: what we ate at Teukbyeolhan Chobap
Okay, now for the most important part — the taste. The variety we ate at Teukbyeolhan Chobap that day was genuinely impressive. Yukhoe sushi (beef tartare sushi), flounder sushi, eel sushi, egg sushi, red shrimp sushi, steak sushi, salmon belly, scallop sushi, and more... plate after plate kept adding up, and before we knew it — wait, 19 plates between the two of us?! Haha, we were shocked ourselves when we looked at the stack of plates afterward. Being able to try so many different kinds was the best part.
Flounder sushi: a good rice-to-fish ratio

The flounder sushi had a clean, light flavor, so it was an easy one to keep reaching for. The fish wasn't piled on so thick that it felt like eating just rice, and the rice-to-fish ratio was solid. Requesting it made fresh on the spot, rather than grabbing one off the rail, made it even more satisfying. Eating it right after it was made meant the rice wasn't soggy and the fish still had that cold, fresh texture, which I loved.
Salmon belly sushi: soft and rich without getting heavy

I love salmon, so of course I tried the salmon belly too. It had that distinctively soft texture and rich flavor, and I really enjoyed it. Salmon can get too rich sometimes, to the point I can only manage a few pieces —

— but this day, alternating it with other kinds of sushi kept it from getting old, and I just kept eating it. I think sushi really is more enjoyable when you alternate between different kinds rather than sticking to just one.

Steak sushi: a change of pace between the raw fish plates
When you're eating nothing but fish sushi for a while, you start craving something meaty, right? That's when a steak sushi really shifts the mood, haha. The tender beef combined with the distinct sushi rice gave it a charm clearly different from the fish sushi.

Yukhoe tataki (seared beef tartare sushi): the best plate of the day
This one looked like meat, so... was the yukhoe (beef tartare) cooked? Haha. I looked up the menu and it turned out to be called yukhoe tadaki. Hmm... the taste was like yukhoe but with that torch-seared feel? Hahaha, it was the tastiest one of all!!

Red shrimp and scallop sushi
The red shrimp sushi had that springy shrimp texture and a subtle sweetness I liked. The scallop sushi also had a soft texture, and it was good to eat in between the other kinds.

And from easy, no-pressure options like egg sushi to slightly more unusual ones like yukhoe sushi, having that range was genuinely great!!

My mom, who came with me, just kept eating eel the whole time, haha. And I ended up eating several plates of just yukhoe, haha.

That's the charm of conveyor-belt sushi, isn't it. One plate, then another... and somehow it turns into 19 plates, haha.
Teukbyeolhan Chobap's two biggest strengths
What satisfied me most at Teukbyeolhan Chobap was, again, the value for money and the instant made-to-order system. Once I actually ate, the freshness of the sushi was solid, and above all, being able to ask for exactly what I wanted made on the spot was great. No need to just stare at the conveyor rail waiting for the piece you want to pass by. There's definitely something to fresh sushi made right on the spot, just like freshly cooked rice.
If you're looking for sushi in Yeongtong while also keeping an eye on price, this is worth a visit, and it's also a solid pick if you want a casual spot among the good restaurants in Yeongtong. It's good for a date with sushi, good for eating alone when you just want something simple, and that day I actually saw a family table too — it looked convenient for kids to pick out whatever sushi they wanted. Good for lunch, and good for a simple dinner out too.
Final verdict on Teukbyeolhan Chobap
I found this place while looking for sushi in Yeongtong, and it turned out to be a more satisfying sushi spot in Suwon than I expected.
- Anyone looking for sushi in Yeongtong
- Anyone who wants to try a variety of Suwon sushi at an affordable price
- Anyone looking for a casual, easy-to-visit restaurant in Yeongtong
I think I'll remember this as a place that was genuinely good. If you're looking for a good-value restaurant in Yeongtong especially, save this one and go check it out! You won't regret it!!
