These days when I pick a café I find myself looking for a place with proper desserts, not just good coffee :) If you're in the Pyeongtaek or Songtan area looking for somewhere to relax with coffee after a meal, I want to recommend Cafe Pomun, which I visited recently.

It's near Godeok in Pyeongtaek so it's easy to get to, and best of all the parking lot is huge, so it was really convenient to visit by car. Cafe Pomun, on Chudam-ro in Pyeongtaek, is often written up for its free parking and dessert menu. This time I properly!!!! enjoyed dessert time — coffee, cake, financiers, and madeleines all together 🤎

How the main building and annex are divided

Cafe Pomun's space is split into a main building and an annex. The main building has a cute, warm feel and is spread over two floors, so it's actually quite spacious. The annex right next door feels a bit more relaxed than the main building, making it good for sitting quietly and chatting. Cafe Pomun is indeed set up so you can use the main building's first and second floors as well as the annex.

At first I only meant to get one dessert, but seeing all the baked snacks on display, I ended up picking one of each haha. In the end I ordered a good variety across the board.

🤎 The warm atmosphere hits you the moment you walk in

Cafe Pomun felt a bit different from the clean white-toned cafés you see everywhere these days. Overall there's a lot of wood tone and warm color, so just sitting there felt oddly comforting! The main building has cute little props scattered around, so there was fun in just looking around too. Especially upstairs on the second floor, the tables are spaced out comfortably, so it seemed like a good spot to chat with friends or hang out on a date for a while. And the annex had its own different charm.

It's bigger and warmer than the main building but also a bit calmer, so personally I thought the annex would be a great spot to relax with a coffee ☕️ When I'm looking for a good dessert café in Pyeongtaek, I care about the atmosphere of the space as much as the taste, and on that front Cafe Pomun really won me over.

How does the chestnut matcha chocolate cake and the financiers taste?

And the chestnut matcha chocolate cake, which looked rich even from a glance! The portion was more generous than expected and the flavor was quite intense.

💚 Pistachio financier ₩4,800

This is the item I especially loved at Cafe Pomun — the pistachio financier. It really lives up to being called a great dessert café in Pyeongtaek, since they have such a wide variety of baked snacks ready. The pistachio financier was chewy outside and soft inside, with the nutty pistachio flavor coming through nicely.

🧀 Cornbread cheese financier ₩3,900

If you like cornbread cheese, I'd recommend this one too. So many people are into cornbread cheese desserts these days, right?! It had a salty, savory cheese flavor that offered a different kind of appeal from the sweeter desserts.

🤎 Signature Pomun coffee ₩6,500

And the Pomun coffee, whose name alone made me curious! I really wanted to try this one, and the thick cream on top was genuinely delicious. The cream wasn't the kind that melts away too lightly — it was rich and smooth, so together with the coffee it tasted sweet while still carrying the coffee's bitterness. Personally, I think Pomun coffee is a must-order if you visit Cafe Pomun.

👶 A good café to visit with pregnant guests or kids

I also loved this thoughtful touch of service. Apparently they offer a baked snack to pregnant guests, and free milk or juice for children. That's actually a pretty important point for families visiting a café with kids. The owner was really kind too, so I had a genuinely pleasant time during the visit :)

📍 Great to pair with a Songtan food trip

Cafe Pomun is near Godeok in Pyeongtaek, so it's a great pick if you're looking for a café while out in Pyeongtaek or Songtan. It'd work especially well as a course — grab a meal nearby, then head to Cafe Pomun. And that huge parking lot is a real plus!
