Anniversary dinner at a Jamsil jazz bar, mid-set Biondi: Allegro

This year's anniversary date was spent in Jamsil. While trying to figure out a date course, I ended up at a place known as a Songpa restaurant favorite.

This is Allegro, a Jamsil jazz bar! Here's my review of visiting for an anniversary date course haha.

I really love going to jazz bars and catching live shows, and the vibe here plus the restaurant food and service were all so good that I wanted to write an honest review. Should be helpful for anyone looking for Bangi-dong pasta spots or a good Songpa restaurant.

How to find Allegro: 5 minutes from Songpanaru Station, 3rd floor

It's located 5 minutes from Songpanaru Station.

Head up to the 3rd floor and you've arrived!

There's a show schedule posted right outside the entrance. It's a not-too-hard-to-find spot even among Bangi-dong favorites, and the route was easy for a date course too.

Allegro's room and seating: two-tops with a clear view of the stage

The live stage is the first thing you see when you walk in.

Mostly two-person tables, and the space is set up so the stage is visible from anywhere. And above all, the atmosphere is just so good haha.

I came for an anniversary date, and the vibe was so good my mood lifted right along with it.

What time does the jazz start at Allegro? 19:30 and 20:25

I walked in at 8pm, right in the middle of the first set. The sets run: Set 1, 7:30–8:10pm (40 minutes), Set 2, 8:25–9:05pm (40 minutes). Good idea to check the show times before visiting this Jamsil jazz bar!

If you're coming for a date course, make sure to time it with the start of a set!

The three dishes we ordered at Allegro

Here's what I ordered!

• Sous-vide pork neck steak
• Amatriciana
• Prosciutto potato salad

First came two pieces of pre-meal bread, freshly warmed and a nice way to start the meal.

Next up was the prosciutto potato salad. It's a Piedmont-style salad — potatoes tossed with cream cheese and horseradish sauce, topped with prosciutto.

Eating the potatoes with the cream cheese and horseradish sauce underneath is genuinely delicious!!

The moment I took the first bite, I thought: wow, this would go perfectly with wine!

So to set the anniversary mood, I quickly ordered wine too haha.

Eating it with wine, it was so good. This is a total wine pairing!!

Amatriciana

A pasta flavored with guanciale, black pepper, and a pecorino tomato sauce.

It's a jazz bar, but true to being a solid Songpa restaurant, the pasta was really delicious too.

Sous-vide pork neck steak

Domestic pork neck (300g), sous-vide then seared crispy, served with a peppercorn sauce. An anniversary date has got to have a steak to slice into, right haha.

So I ordered it, and wow, I'm so glad I did.

The inside was so tender from the sous-vide, and the outside was seared crispy — proper crispy-outside, tender-inside haha.

And dipping it in the peppercorn sauce, everything came together perfectly.

The band that night at Allegro: Biondi

Eating all this with the atmosphere so good — enjoying delicious food while watching a jazz show made me so happy.

On the day I visited, the band Biondi was performing.

Each member had so much individual character, yet they came together so well — I was happy the entire time listening to the jazz set.

The time I spent at Allegro, this Jamsil jazz bar with great vibes and great food! I was so happy.

Delicious food and ears that got so happy too — this Songpa restaurant and jazz bar, Allegro. I definitely want to come back. Next time, I'll arrive in time for the first set start and catch both sets.
