I've recently gotten into salmon, haha, so I went to Salmon Brothers, a salmon restaurant in Gwangalli!

Salmon Brothers is on the 2nd floor at 49 Gwangan-ro, Suyeong-gu, Busan. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays it's open from 17:00 to 01:00 the next day; on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 01:00, with a break time from 16:00-17:00 and last order at 00:00. Closed every Tuesday.

It's near Gwangalli Beach, so it's a great stop before or after a walk along the water.

The lighting was low, which gave it a romantic dining feel, and the interior was upscale! The seating is varied and well laid out too. There are solo seats, so it's good for solo dining or solo drinking. You can also order in Korean, English, Chinese, or Japanese via the table order system, so it's easy for overseas travelers too. 🌏 Reservations can be made via Naver Reservation, Catch Table, Instagram DM, or by phone.

The sentimental interior and the cute little props were really lovely. 💓

Next to the full-length mirror there's a cute teddy bear doll. 🧸

Salmon Brothers is a dining spot in Gwangalli where you can enjoy salmon, flounder, beef tartare, and pasta all together. 🍝 On top of fresh salmon, flounder, and beef tartare, they also have pasta and a range of Western dishes hearty enough for a full meal.

There's a wide range of salmon dishes — giant salmon sushi, salmon tataki sushi, salmon cheese rolls, salmon sashimi, and more! 🍣 Note that they only prepare a limited amount of top-grade aged salmon, so it sells out fast and the shop closes early once it's gone — better to get there early. 😎

Giant salmon and tataki sushi with basil pesto pasta

What we ordered was half giant salmon + half salmon tataki sushi, plus basil pesto pasta.

It was my first time trying a basil-based pasta, and it was reeeeally satisfying! The noodles had great texture and the basil pesto wasn't greasy at all, with a strong fragrant basil aroma. 😍

The salmon was so fresh it had zero fishy taste. It was clean-tasting with great fatty flavor. 💓 And since it was the giant size, each piece of sushi was massive! Eating solo, this alone would probably be plenty filling. I dipped it generously in the sauce that came with it and the moment I put it in my mouth, fireworks went off in front of my eyes! 🎆 How can something be this soft and not greasy at all, yet this delicious! Next up was the tataki sushi, with the salmon lightly seared — the seared flavor was incredible.

How is the salmon salad?

Lastly, we enjoyed a fresh salmon salad together. 🥗 I'd never had cherry tomatoes this fresh before! They were plump, super sweet, and fresh. The thick-cut pieces of salmon, cheese, and baby greens all came together really well — genuinely delicious. 😋
