Yeonsu-dong sashimi restaurant's new 3rd-floor spot: ₩43,000 platter
In short
Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Yeonsu Branch is a sashimi restaurant in Yeonsu-dong, Incheon, right in front of Yeonsu Station, now expanded and relocated to the 3rd floor of Yeonsu Plaza. On a weekday evening the writer ordered the Veteran assorted sashimi platter at 43,000 won, which arrived with seasonal autumn gizzard shad — nutty, oily and firm — plus two abalone given free through the Naver receipt review event. With a self-serve kimchi pancake bar and a dessert corner, Veteran General Fish Market is an easy choice for work dinners or family meals.

What is Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Yeonsu Branch?
Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Yeonsu Branch is a sashimi restaurant in Yeonsu-dong, right on the 3rd floor of Yeonsu Plaza, directly in front of Yeonsu Station. It's open 11:00–23:00 (last order 21:00), and there's a spacious parking lot inside the building, so driving over is very convenient.
Today I'm bringing a candid review from Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Yeonsu Branch, a Yeonsu-dong favorite known for fresh seasonal sashimi and generous spreads.
It used to be on the 2nd floor of the same building right in front of Yeonsu Station, but after a remodel it's now expanded and moved up to the 3rd floor! Even though I visited on a weekday evening, plenty of people were already eating there — a real sign of its popularity as a go-to Yeonsu Station sashimi restaurant.
Inside the expanded 3rd-floor dining room and open kitchen

Walking in, the lighting was brighter overall and the clean interior stood out right away. The tables were spaced generously too, making it look perfectly suited for group gatherings, company dinners, or family meals.

On one side there's an open kitchen, so you can watch the chefs prepping the sashimi hygienically with your own eyes. They clearly put a lot of care into cleanliness, which made for a reassuring atmosphere to enjoy the meal in.
Menu and order: the 43,000-won Veteran assorted sashimi platter

Veteran General Fish Market offers everything from seasonal specials that change by the month to a wide variety of sashimi, so there's plenty of fun in picking what to order. With the cooler weather these days, dishes like Incheon gizzard shad sashimi, grilled gizzard shad, and cool Incheon mulhoe (raw fish in cold broth) are especially popular!

Side dishes, the self-serve bar and the kimchi pancake

It's fun comparing the basic side dishes across Veteran branches, since they differ a bit by location. Last time I visited the Guwol branch, they served nicely grilled saury, but this time at the Incheon Yeonsu branch, they gave us a spicy-tangy, refreshing sashimi salad! Perfect for whetting the appetite.

If you run low on side dishes during the meal, there's a self-serve bar in the middle of the restaurant, so you can grab more without feeling awkward about it.

And here's one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back to Veteran — the kimchi pancake! When you're eating sashimi, you sometimes crave carbs, and a bite of crispy kimchi pancake pairs fantastically with the fish. The chewiness of the sashimi followed by the crunch of the pancake is a must-try combo.
Autumn gizzard shad: is it fatty enough right now?

The main event finally arrived — the Veteran assorted sashimi platter! The generously composed platter thoughtfully included autumn-season gizzard shad sashimi, which made me really happy to see.

Honestly, I thought it might be a bit too early in the season for gizzard shad, but one bite in, it had that savory, well-balanced fattiness with a crisp, springy texture — perfect. If you're looking for Incheon gizzard shad sashimi, you can still fully enjoy its savory seasonal flavor right now.

❗️And a tip you can't skip❗️ This is the free abalone sashimi I got by participating in the Naver receipt review event. I expected a small abalone for a free review item, but I was genuinely surprised by how fresh and plump it was. The crunchy texture was fantastic alongside the platter.
The receipt review gift and the dessert corner

There's an ongoing event where you can choose 2 dried black persimmons, 2 pieces of abalone, or 4 fried king shrimp as a free extra for leaving a receipt review — I'd recommend using it to add more to your meal as a side dish.

There's also a dessert corner where you can cleanse your palate after the meal. With soft ice cream and a hot coffee machine on hand, I could enjoy a neat, satisfying finish with a sweet dessert after all that fresh sashimi.
