Inside Dwaeji Gongbang: self-service bar and meat aging fridge

The interior has that old-school BBQ joint vibe! There's a clean self-service bar ⭕️ where you can help yourself to fresh vegetables, various sauces, and side dishes as much as you like.

There's also a meat aging fridge!! Places where you can see the aging fridge tend to have good meat, I think 👍
Dwaeji Gongbang menu and prices

There's a mixed half-platter / mixed full platter (the signature menu letting you try various special cuts), samgyeopsal (pork belly), pork neck, individual special-cut orders, sikhye, plus various sides and alcohol menus.
What comes in the 49,000 won mixed half-platter?
For this visit I ordered generously with menu items that really let you feel Dwaeji Gongbang's charm!

What I ordered was the signature mixed half-platter (₩49,000)!! This gives you thick pork neck plus 3 special cuts. The special cuts are gabrisal / rib finger meat / neck skin — three kinds — served together with mushrooms and shishito peppers 🤤

4 ways to enjoy Dwaeji Gongbang's pork and pickled sides 💡
The ways to enjoy the meat even more at Dwaeji Gongbang are hairtail jeotgal (fermented hairtail sauce), white kimchi, pickled pepper strips / pickled garlic scapes, and spicy doenjang rice soup.
- 1. Hairtail jeotgal - all the good meat spots serve this these days! Simmer it while grilling the meat and dip it in~~
- 2. White kimchi - this white kimchi is delicious grilled or just eaten plain! 💕
- 3. Pickled pepper strips / pickled garlic scapes - these two are the kicker! They keep you eating meat without getting tired of it 👍 the owner really knows what's up…!!!
- 4. Spicy doenjang rice soup - didn't try this one, but I'm planning to next time haha

Thick pork neck (moksal)

Dwaeji Gongbang's signature thick pork neck!! There's a common trait among great meat restaurants — the pork neck is delicious! Served extra thick, full of juice and so tender, I was happy the whole time eating it 💕🤤

Gabrisal (pork neck-end cut)
Gabrisal with a soft, tender texture! A special cut with striking bright red flesh, not dry at all — the tender texture is easily the best 👍 The grain is so soft that as soon as it's in your mouth the savory juices burst out and it melts away cleanly.

Rib finger meat (neukgansal)
A chewy bite!! Trimmed long from between the ribs, it's fun rolling it around on the grill until golden brown! I don't think I've had rib finger meat much before, but the more you chew, the more the deep, natural meat aroma comes through along with a bouncy, chewy texture — really charming 👍

Chewy neck skin (kkodolsal)
A uniquely chewy texture. From the pig's neck area, this special-of-specials pops with a chewy, springy texture with every bite! Not greasy at all, with a crisp yet savory flavor that stays alive. I have a memory of eating really good neck skin in Jeju Island, and Dwaeji Gongbang's neck skin holds its own just as well 👍

Soft tofu stew comes free with a meat order
The surprising thing is that ordering meat at Dwaeji Gongbang comes with a hot, spicy soft tofu stew served free as a default! (I love this so much 💕) The bubbling soft tofu and rich broth cut through the greasiness of the meat perfectly, and it's excellent 👍👍

Sikhye (sweet rice punch), 3,000 won
You have to try this! I love sikhye so I ordered it, and it's delicious 👍 Cool and just sweet enough, it goes great alongside the meat haha
Rating and final verdict on Dwaeji Gongbang
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The mixed half-platter meat was fresh with no gamey smell and full of juice, and the free spicy tofu stew plus the sweet sikhye made the whole lineup perfect! Thanks to the clean self-service bar and the comfortable atmosphere, I got to enjoy a happy, satisfying meal.
A spot I definitely want to revisit whenever I want quality pork and a hearty meal in Bucheon's Okgil area! If you're looking for great meat and a solid lineup near Bucheon, be sure to stop by Dwaeji Gongbang. You'll get to enjoy a meal with zero regrets 💕
