Bucheon pork BBQ restaurant selling banchan to go: Dwaeji Gongbang
In short
Dwaeji Gongbang Bucheon Okgil-dong Main Branch is a pork BBQ restaurant in Okgil-dong, Bucheon, Gyeonggi, that packages its own side dishes for sale — pickled chili strips, pickled garlic scapes, sundubu (soft tofu) and soybean paste. A Sunday 6pm visit meant a half mixed platter (500g, 49,000 won) with spicy soybean paste rice, steamed egg and beef tartare, grilled in the order the owner recommended. So many guests asked about the banchan that Dwaeji Gongbang built a to-go menu around it, and one bite explains why.

It's a pork BBQ restaurant that sells side dishes on their own. Apparently so many customers asked for them that they made a whole to-go menu. I'll show you what the side dishes actually are later — once I tasted them, I got it, haha. Here's my review of Dwaeji Gongbang Bucheon Okgil-dong Main Branch, a restaurant I found while looking for good eats in Okgil-dong.

Where is Dwaeji Gongbang Bucheon Okgil-dong Main Branch, and when is it open?
Dwaeji Gongbang Bucheon Okgil-dong Main Branch is at 7-4 1F Yangji-ro 184beon-gil, Sosa-gu, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. Hours are Monday–Friday 16:00–24:00, Saturday–Sunday 15:00–24:00, with last order at 23:20.
Sunday 6pm at Dwaeji Gongbang: already full

We got there around 6pm on a Sunday and it was already full inside. People were still waiting outside when we finished and left. If you're going on a weekend, get there a bit early. Every table has a little stovepipe/chimney with notes written on it, and honestly the info on there is surprisingly useful, haha.
What's in the 500g mixed platter? Four pork cuts in one order

The mixed platter (half) at Dwaeji Gongbang is 500g (2–3 people) for ₩49,000, and the mixed platter (full) is 800g (3–4 people) for ₩78,000. À la carte options include Korean pork belly, female pig, 170g for ₩17,000, thick pork neck, Iberico black, for ₩17,000, gabrisal 170g for ₩16,000, rib meat, Iberico black, for ₩17,000, and kkodeulsal, a special Korean pork cut, for ₩15,000.
Meal options are spicy soybean paste rice for ₩9,000, pork-loaded kimchi jjigae (with rice) for ₩9,000, and beef brisket soybean paste jjigae (with rice) for ₩9,000.
We ordered the mixed platter along with the soybean paste rice, steamed egg, and beef tartare.

The banchan spread that comes with every table

Various sauces and pickles get set out first, then the side dishes arrive.

There's a separate self-serve bar, so if you run out of side dishes you can just go grab more.
On the stovepipe, the names of the cuts are written in order: thick pork neck → gabrisal → rib meat → kkodeulsal, matching the order they come up on the mixed platter board. Chili peppers and king oyster mushrooms come up alongside them too. After we tried them in order, the owner told us to add more of whichever cut suited our taste.

The sundubu (soft tofu stew) that comes as a default side is nice and spicy.

The beef tartare wasn't in big pieces — it was finely chopped, which I think is why it was so tender.

The owner's grilling order and how to eat each cut

As the owner put the meat on the grill, he explained step by step how to eat it for the best flavor. It's also written on the lower part of the stovepipe.

- First, boil the galchi-sokjeot (fermented hairtail guts) on the grill and dip the meat in it
- Second, grill the baek-kimchi (white kimchi) on the pan before eating it
- Third, eat the meat together with the pickled chili strips and pickled garlic scapes
- Fourth, pair it with the spicy soybean paste rice

Eating it this way seemed to bring out the flavor even more, haha.

They must have been swamped with the place packed full, but the moment we dropped a spoon, a new one showed up right away, haha.

The kkodeulsal was the standout — I was surprised by how chewy and bouncy it was. So good, haha. I wanted to order more but we were busy eating everything else, so we couldn't fit it in, hahaha.

My son inhaled the soybean paste rice.

It was chewy and nutty.
We also had the fluffy steamed egg.
Why this Bucheon pork BBQ restaurant sells its banchan separately
The side dishes Dwaeji Gongbang sells separately are the pickled chili strips and pickled garlic scapes. Dipping the meat generously in the pickled chili strip liquid made it tangy and crisp, and the meat just kept going down.

The owner said so many customers kept asking for these that they made a separate to-go menu. Once you taste it, you get why they sell it.

Sundubu, soybean paste, and other items were all sold packaged to go. Another delicious meal at Dwaeji Gongbang Bucheon Okgil-dong Main Branch, found while looking for good eats in Okgil-dong.
