Baekhyeon-dong café street brunch with anchovy pasta: Andover

In short

Andover is a brunch and Western-food restaurant on the Baekhyeon-dong café street in Seongnam, Gyeonggi. On a weekend visit with her sister, the writer ordered the fresh basil salad (24,000 won), the signature lasagna (29,000 won) and the anchovy pasta, and the lasagna's layers of homemade ragù and béchamel stood out most. Nothing at Andover tasted heavy or over-salted, so three dishes worked well shared between two people.

Wide shot of Andover's Western-food menu items

My sister and I were trying to figure out what to eat on the weekend, and since I wanted to enjoy a leisurely brunch for once, we headed to Andover, a Pangyo spot on the Baekhyeon-dong café street 🤍

What is Baekhyeon-dong café street like?

I hadn't been to Baekhyeon-dong café street in a while — was the atmosphere always this good...?

Baekhyeon-dong café street lined with terraces

With the great weather too, the terraces lining the street made it feel exactly like strolling through some neighborhood in Europe.

There were especially a lot of people sitting on the outdoor terrace enjoying a glass of wine — wow, I was so jealous...🍷 I'd driven that day so I couldn't drink, but next time I'm definitely leaving the car and drinking wine on the terrace instead.

It would honestly be perfect for a date on a nice weekend.

The address is 10-7 Pangyoyeok-ro 10beon-gil, 1st floor, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, and it's closed every Monday. Reservations are available too.

The whole Baekhyeon-dong café street has such a great atmosphere for strolling that you can easily grab a meal and then hit a nearby café afterward. On this day, it wasn't just Andover I loved — the whole neighborhood vibe was amazing.

With so many people dining on the terrace seats and that quiet, relaxed feeling, this is the kind of place that comes to mind whenever you want a weekend brunch in Pangyo!

Three dishes two people ordered at Andover

Andover has quite a varied menu — everything from brunch to pasta, lasagna, and fish dishes. Since it was just the two of us, we ordered

  • Fresh Basil Salad ₩24,000
  • Signature Lasagna ₩29,000
  • Anchovy Pasta

these three dishes.

Three dishes ordered at Andover

I thought three dishes might be a lot for two people, but bottom line — we ate every bit of it, haha. One thing I especially loved about Andover is that they make their sauces in-house.

They even sell their basil pesto, ragu sauce, and tomato sauce separately, so they seem seriously committed to their sauces — and tasting it, the flavors weren't heavy-handed at all; instead, the ingredients' own flavor came through in a clean, delicious way.

Fresh basil salad topped with burrata cheese

First up, ordered to start off light — the Fresh Basil Salad! It comes with ingredients marinated in Andover's fresh basil pesto, a generous chunk of burrata cheese, and baguette.

The look alone screams brunch...🌿

The fragrant basil flavor paired with the burrata cheese made it nutty yet overall really refreshing.

Usually with basil dishes like this, if the sauce is too strong I get sick of it after a few bites, but Andover's version was clean enough that I kept reaching for it — great to eat in between the mains.

And now, the lasagna I personally have to recommend!

Andover's thick-layered signature lasagna

It's one of Andover's signature dishes — meat-packed homemade ragu sauce, cheese, and béchamel cream layered thick and hearty.

Just from the way the layers held their shape when it was cut, I thought, this can't possibly be bad, haha. And sure enough, the homemade ragu sauce was genuinely delicious.

There was plenty of meaty flavor, but the sauce wasn't overly heavy or salty, and the balance with the cheese and béchamel was great.

Lasagna usually gets a bit greasy toward the end, but this one stayed surprisingly clean, so I kept eating. Once you try it, you get why it's the signature dish!

Anchovy pasta at Andover

And finally, the Anchovy Pasta!

Andover's anchovy pasta

I personally love pasta with anchovies in it. That salty, savory anchovy flavor is just so good with pasta.

But it can also be polarizing if it's too salty or too strong-smelling — the one at Andover was clean overall, which I loved.

A plate of anchovy pasta

It didn't overlap in flavor with the basil salad or the lasagna we'd already had, so the combination of all three dishes was a real success!

Salad, lasagna, and pasta combination on the table

If you're visiting as two people, I'd recommend ordering one salad plus lasagna and pasta and sharing them.

Is Andover worth a weekend outing?

This time I came with my sister for weekend brunch, and beyond the food itself, the whole Baekhyeon-dong café street atmosphere made it even better. Walking through streets that feel like Europe, having brunch at Andover, and then — if the weather's nice — a glass of wine on the terrace...🍷

Enjoying weekend brunch at Andover

That combination would make the perfect weekend plan! What I especially liked about Andover was that, thanks to their homemade sauces, all three dishes we tried weren't heavy or overpowering — they were clean and let the ingredients' own flavors really come through.

If you're looking for a nice-atmosphere brunch spot in Pangyo or a good restaurant on the Baekhyeon-dong café street, try Andover's lasagna and pasta 🤍 Especially the lasagna — highly recommend!
