I'm on a trip to Jeju 😎 And when you think Jeju, you think souvenirs!! Today I visited not a normal souvenir shop but a quirky dessert souvenir shop 😆

Where is Today Jeju in Yeondong, and where do you park?

Today Jeju Shilla Duty Free Shop Jeju Branch is on the 1st floor of 69 Noyeon-ro, Jeju-si, Jeju. It's about 12 minutes 🚗 by car or about 20 minutes 🚌 by bus from Jeju International Airport.

Harubangne menu: three madeleine styles and eight flavors

Harubangne (하르방느) madeleines come in three types: the plain Harubangne madeleine, the Harubangne Chocolate — a chocolate-coated version — and finally the Ang-butter Harubangne. Harubangne comes in eight flavors: hallabong (Jeju citrus), matcha, carrot, baengnyeoncho (white cactus flower), Earl Grey, black sesame, chocolate, and fig — all made using Jeju's signature local foods, and they're healthy desserts with no preservatives or additives.

Harubangne Chocolate adds sweetness to the chocolate, Earl Grey, matcha, and baengnyeoncho Harubangne with a chocolate coating 😆 And the Ang-butter Harubangne sandwiches ang-butter (red bean and butter paste) between two Harubangne to give an extra layer of buttery flavor!

There are also two kinds of sandwiches available: Udo peanut and Jeju tangerine sand 😍

Stepping inside, the bright yet sleek orange interior catches your eye, and the neatly displayed products give a nice welcome.

The spacious, comfortable layout makes it easy to browse at leisure, and every corner is decorated so cutely that just looking around is fun 😆

The appetizing, pretty-looking Harubangne are lined up neatly by type. Rows of cute dol hareubang-shaped madeleines packed with Jeju charm — they're so adorable it almost feels a shame to eat them 😂

I gave one of each from the 8-flavor set to my coworkers, and it was a huge hit-!! Everyone said they were so cute 😆 Aren't they just adorable 🤭

I handed out the madeleines around the office and kept one fig flavor for myself.

You're not supposed to refrigerate these, but I put it in the fridge without thinking, and once I took it out it had gotten a little dry 🥲 Still, leaving it at room temperature for a bit made it soft again!

A little disappointing, but overall totally satisfied 👍👍👍 The soft madeleine has a gentle sweetness and flavor that spreads through your mouth — charming stuff 😊 The sweetness isn't heavy or artificial, so it's a flavor that dessert lovers and picky eaters alike can enjoy without complaint!! Bits of fig are studded throughout, giving a chewy texture along with the fig flavor, and it's easy to eat without feeling heavy 👍
