Hanam Korean BBQ: three Jeju pork cuts for two at Ikkjujeokku

In short

Ikkjujeokku is a Jeju fresh-pork BBQ restaurant in Gamil-dong, Hanam, Gyeonggi. A couple sat in the Griddle Hall and ordered two servings each of Jeju black pork ogyeopsal (five-layer belly), moksal (collar) and samgyeopsal (belly), grilling them alongside bean sprouts, bracken and mustard leaf kimchi, with all cuts at 5,900 won per 100g. My husband and I were passing through Gamil-dong when we stumbled on a BBQ restaurant that turned out to be a local favorite among Gamil residents! This time I visited a place with the charming name 'Ikkjujeokku' — a Korean BBQ spot in Gamil-dong that's well known around here.

Jeju fresh pork for 5,900 won per 100g in Gamil-dong — and is there parking?

A place near home selling Jeju fresh pork at what might be the lowest price around! At ₩5,900 per 100g, it's an easy spot to enjoy pork without worrying about the bill. There's parking right in front of the restaurant, so I parked and walked straight in. Plenty of spots available!

Domestic origin labeling posted in the restaurant

Every ingredient marked domestically sourced 💓 The origin and quality of each ingredient stood out here. And this place keeps costs low with a self-serve system, so you get good-quality meat at a low price!

Three spaces at Ikkjujeokku: charcoal hall, griddle hall, outdoor charcoal yard

Ikkjujeokku is split into three spaces total — a charcoal hall for grilling over charcoal, a griddle hall for grilling on a flat plate, and an outdoor charcoal yard. All three have their own charm, so I loved that one restaurant offers so many different ways to eat 👍🏻

Outdoor charcoal yard seating area

I used the Griddle Hall that day, and in autumn weather it feels like grilling meat at a campsite, like in the photo above — atmospheric and lovely!

Outdoor table with a camping atmosphere

There's even a mini convenience store inside the restaurant, so you can grab Hangang ramyeon, snacks, or drinks — you can get a real camping feel here without actually going camping!

We visited on a weekday so we didn't reserve ahead, but you can book through Naver Reservation, so keep that in mind!

The restaurant is large inside, so I thought it'd work well for family gatherings or company dinners. In fact, on the day I visited, there was a company group having a team dinner!

Ordering two servings each of ogyeopsal, moksal and samgyeopsal

I ordered Jeju black pork fresh pork belly (2 servings), fresh neck (2 servings), and fresh pork belly (2 servings). At ₩5,900 per 100g, I could order all sorts of things without worrying about the price, which got me pretty excited haha.

What's on Ikkjujeokku's self-serve bar

The self-serve bar has lettuce wraps, Maldon salt, house ssamjang (dipping sauce), salted hairtail intestines, fresh wasabi, Yeosu mustard leaf kimchi, and scallion salad — you can take as much as you want without feeling self-conscious!

Grilling bean sprouts, bracken and mustard leaf kimchi in the Griddle Hall

In the Griddle Hall, we grilled bean sprouts, bracken fern, and mustard leaf kimchi on the flat plate right alongside the meat — grilling them together on the plate gave it a deeper savory flavor, and I ended up eating two bowls of rice... ugh.

That gorgeous color on the meat 💓 It was sliced thick, so the texture was great.

Grilling on the flat plate, the smell of the meat cooking was exactly like grilling at a campsite, and it got me so excited!!

Can you bring outside or delivery food to Ikkjujeokku?

And at Ikkjujeokku, this Gamil, Hanam favorite, outside food and delivery food are fully allowed, so you can even eat food you brought yourself! My husband and I already talked about bringing takeout next time haha.

Once autumn arrives, I want to enjoy the outdoor camping vibe and grill outside! If you're looking for a good BBQ restaurant in Gamil-dong, give Ikkjujeokku a visit!
