Andover, a favorite in Pangyo, takes its name from a small town near Boston in the US. The owner apparently studied there and made memories with family during that time. The exterior already has a great vibe, and with outdoor seating, dining out there on a nice-weather day like these lets you enjoy the season in a good mood.

Inside, table sizes vary, so it's a good spot to visit depending on your group size when looking for a Pangyo meeting place. Overall it's dark-toned and clean, which made it feel especially fitting for an evening date. Less formal-restaurant-stiff, more like a comfortable place to chat over a glass of wine or a drink!

What we ordered at Andover for dinner

We ordered burrata tomato salad, shrimp bisque pasta, flounder steak, and a non-alcoholic cidre (₩12,000).

The cidre is a non-alcoholic apple beer. I ordered it more as a pre-meal drink without much expectation, but the clean, not-too-sweet fizz really perked up my appetite.

Burrata tomato salad at Andover

First up was the tomato burrata salad! Arugula and tomatoes were laid generously underneath with a whole ball of burrata cheese on top — it looked so pretty 🥗

Cutting into the fresh cheese and pairing it with the vegetables and tomato made for something soft and refreshing — a great appetite-starter before the heavier mains.

I figured the fish dish and pasta coming up would be pretty filling, so I went for a light, fresh starter first.

Flounder steak and baguette

The flounder steak was more filling than I expected. The fish is golden-browned on top and comes with clams, mushrooms, and potatoes, plus a baguette to eat it with.

The fish flesh itself was soft and mild, but the sauce underneath had its own distinct charm.

I figured it wouldn't taste like much, but dipping the baguette in the sauce was surprisingly amazing. Umami explosion 🤤

Shrimp bisque pasta

Bisque pasta isn't a super common menu item, so when I see it on a menu I tend to order it.

Three big shrimp sat on top, and the sauce had a strong, deep shellfish flavor. It clung well to the flat linguine too, so every bite had pretty intense umami!

My partner peeled the shrimp for me 🦐 Feels like a great menu for couples to share on a sweet date.

Maybe because my partner prepped them for me, but these plump shrimp tasted even better 🧡

Andover, this Baekhyeon-dong favorite, felt like the right spot for a day when you want both good food and good atmosphere. The plating on every dish was pretty too, so it was fun ordering several things and filling up the table 😇
