Jeonpo Station curry restaurant with a zero cola ice cup: Sarugak20

In short

Sarugak20 is a basement curry restaurant a short walk from Exit 8 of Jeonpo Station in Busanjin, Busan. On a weekend lunch date, the writer and her boyfriend ordered the special beef curry at 12,000 won, the half-and-half curry at 10,000 won and two sweet potato cheese croquettes at 3,500 won, with a zero cola served alongside a separate cup of ice. The half-and-half curry, which lets you alternate between cream curry and special curry on one plate, was the most satisfying dish at Sarugak20.

My boyfriend and I went on a date around Jeonpo on the weekend and stopped by Sarugak20 for curry at lunch :) We were looking for somewhere to eat near Jeonpo Station and ended up here — with so many curry options on the menu, it was hard to decide what to get.

Sarugak20 seating: floor seats, bar table and tables for two

Once we got inside, there were more seating options than I expected. There was floor seating, and also a bar table that looked great for solo visits.

There were also seats for two and tables for 3–4 people, so it felt like you could pick a seat depending on your group size.

We visited for a weekend lunch date, and it was a comfortable spot for the two of us to sit and eat.

On one side there was a self-serve water station, and it wasn't just plain water — green tea and lime water were also available, so you could pick whichever you wanted 🍋🟩

We also ordered a zero cola, and they gave us a separate ice cup so we could enjoy it nice and cold 🥰

What we ordered at Sarugak20 and what it cost

We ordered three things: special curry, half-and-half curry, and sweet potato cheese croquettes. As of the current menu, special curry is ₩12,000, half-and-half curry is ₩10,000, and the sweet potato cheese croquettes are ₩3,500 for two!

Special curry at 12,000 won: egg and sausage on top

We started with the special curry, which arrived first! It came topped with both egg and sausage along with the curry, so it looked pretty appetizing 🍛

Instead of just eating plain curry, mixing in bites of sausage and egg along the way changed up the flavor nicely, so there was fun in combining different bites.

Half-and-half curry at 10,000 won: cream and special curry on one plate

Then came the half-and-half curry, which I really loved that day! It's a menu item that lets you try cream curry and special curry together on one plate.

It was perfect for when it's hard to choose between the two, and once we actually tasted it, the two curries were noticeably different.

The cream curry had a soft, savory flavor, while the special curry had a deeper, richer taste. The special curry had finely diced meat mixed in, so you got a bit of chewy texture with each bite too.

One side soft and savory, the other deep and rich — alternating between the two was genuinely fun. So next time I go back to Sarugak20, I think I'll order the half-and-half curry again ✨

Do the sweet potato cheese croquettes go with the curry?

The sweet potato cheese croquettes we ordered to go with the curry paired better than expected. The outside was fried crispy while the inside stayed moist, so the texture was great. Taking a bite of curry and then the croquette added a crunchy contrast that worked well together.

After eating just curry for a while, adding the croquette partway through gave it a whole different feel, so I was glad we ordered it as a side 👍

Is Sarugak20 worth it for lunch near Jeonpo Station?

Having tried it in person, Sarugak20 seems like a solid option when looking for lunch near Jeonpo Station. With everything from floor seating to bar tables, it works well for solo dining and also for a weekend date lunch like ours ❣️

Since you can taste both the cream curry's soft, savory flavor and the special curry's deep, rich flavor at once, I think I'll go for the half-and-half curry again next time! If you're looking for a good curry spot in Jeonpo-dong, I'd recommend giving the half-and-half curry at Sarugak20 a try :)
