Tenderloin and cheese cutlet udon sets in Dongtan Mokdong: Kkot Gatsu
In short
Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch is a Japanese-style pork cutlet restaurant in Dongtan Mokdong, Hwaseong, that fries aged Korean pork. On a weekday visit at 1pm, the tenderloin cutlet and the cheese cutlet each came as a suudong (plain udon) set, eaten with self-serve pickled chili plus wasabi, lemon salt and cumin. There was no wait on arrival, though three more parties queued up soon after, and the cutlets at Kkot Gatsu stayed light to the last bite despite being deep-fried.

If you've eaten pork cutlet in Dongtan, you can't not know this place! Let me introduce Kkot Gatsu, a Dongtan Mokdong favorite. Even during the day it gets so busy that waiting is basically a given.

Such a pretty spread — no wonder it's called Kkot Gatsu ("flower cutlet")! Made with aged Korean pork, the flavor is amazing too.

Crispy outside, juicy inside — the textbook version, with all the juices intact: Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Mokdong's tenderloin cutlet.

And then there's the cheese cutlet, packed with soft, savory cheese. This combo is my personal favorite. If you visit as a pair, you can try this whole range of flavors — great for a date course too! Once you taste this cutlet, you'll immediately understand why it's called the top pork cutlet spot in Dongtan.
Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch hours and break time
Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch is open daily 11:00–21:00, with a break time from 15:00–17:00 and last order at 20:30. Since there's a break right after lunch service, it's worth checking the time before you go.

What does Kkot Gatsu look like inside and out?
The exterior of Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch feels cozy yet stylish, like a shop tucked into a back alley you'd stumble on while traveling in Japan. The wood interior gives it a warm feel.

The inside looked peaceful, so I thought — for once it might be a bit empty since it was busy last time I came? But no way! The moment I opened the door, so many customers! I really felt how popular Dongtan pork cutlet spot Kkot Gatsu is. Even at 1pm on a weekday it was this packed — luckily I didn't have to wait, but I saw three more parties come in and queue behind me. It's such a famous Dongtan pork cutlet place that you should be ready to wait.

I also spotted an award medal from the KCIA Korea Consumer Industry Evaluation. The dignity of the top Dongtan pork cutlet place, confirmed.
The interior matches the exterior with the same wood theme, giving off a warm, comfortable feel. The space isn't huge, but the ceilings are high and the tables well spaced, making it nice for chatting over a meal.
Kkot Gatsu menu in Dongtan Mokdong

Let's take a look at the menu at Kkot Gatsu Dongtan. There's the signature tenderloin cutlet, plus loin cutlet, premium loin cutlet, cheese cutlet, chicken cutlet, and fish cutlet.

There are also set menus that come with a spicy hwa-udon or a mild suudong. Suudong is basically the plain udon we all know.

There are also à la carte items. With such a varied menu, it's a good place to bring kids too. That day we ordered tenderloin cutlet + suudong and cheese cutlet + suudong.

Self-serve pickled chili bar
Since each cutlet is fried fresh to order, there was a bit of a wait. While waiting, I put on an apron and checked out the self-serve bar. There was pickled chili — nice and spicy, perfect alongside pork cutlet, which can feel a bit rich on its own.

How do the tenderloin and cheese cutlet suudong sets taste?
And here comes the food! I think pork cutlet has the most appetizing, striking visuals of any dish, and at Kkot Gatsu, just setting the dishes on the table makes for a gorgeous table spread!

The overhead shot looks even more appetizing, right? Especially that delicate pink inside the tenderloin cutlet! If you imagined a pork cutlet shaped like a flower, this might be exactly it.

The udon comes loaded with fried tofu skin too, so slurping it with the noodles maximizes the savoriness.

Savory, present and accounted for — the cheese cutlet, making its presence known! The moment the cheese cutlet arrives and I take that first bite, the cheese wraps around softly while the chewy, crispy meat and batter texture hit at the same time — it puts me in such a good mood. The harmony of French mozzarella and loin meat. Tenderloin cutlet might be the signature, but cheese cutlet holds its own!

Sprinkle on some tangy lemon and the light, crispy flavor gets an extra clean lift from the lemon — makes you want to keep eating endlessly.

But honestly, the star of Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Mokdong is the tenderloin cutlet! Just look at that juicy, rosy-pink inside. Can you feel the tender grain? It really earns its title as the signature cutlet, the essence of Kkot Gatsu. No gamey smell at all, just that soft tenderloin bite, and the meat quality was clearly high, letting the natural flavor of the meat shine through.

Eating the cutlets with wasabi, lemon salt and cumin
The sauces set on the tray. Every cutlet tastes even better paired with wasabi, lemon salt, and cumin.

The cabbage salad with a savory dressing cleanses the palate and pairs nicely. The food felt neat overall, and the salad portion was just right.

I started with lemon salt, then tried loading up on tonkatsu sauce. However you eat it, Kkot Gatsu can't taste bad — no wonder it's a Dongtan Mokdong favorite. Even though it's fried crisp, there's no greasy smell at all, just a light, clean flavor — you can really tell it's different.

To finish, a candy handed over at checkout.
Who is Kkot Gatsu Dongtan best for?
Kkot Gatsu is one of the standout, well-known pork cutlet spots in Dongtan. I live nearby so I come often, and every time, I notice the same thing — it's always busy, the taste is consistently clean, and the space is kept neat and well managed. Having a place like this near home really is lucky.
At bad pork cutlet places, you get tired of it halfway through eating, but here, even though it's fried food, it stays light — the meat isn't tough or dry, it's firm and savory in a way that pairs perfectly with the batter, so I could enjoy it all the way to the last bite. It's a place anyone can enjoy without complaint, great for family gatherings or friend meetups in Dongtan, and also good for couples who enjoy exploring good restaurants. As someone who lives in Dongtan, I highly recommend it — definitely worth a visit.
