Where is Moshi Moshi Sushi in Nampo-dong? 10th floor of Lotte Gwangbok, and the wait

Exterior of Moshi Moshi Sushi on the 10th floor of Lotte Department Store Gwangbok

I came to Moshi Moshi, the Japanese restaurant on the 10th floor of Lotte Department Store Gwangbok. Nostalgic Moshi Moshi.....💛 Back when I was at Pusan National University over a decade ago, this was the sushi place I used to go to, and I remember eating generously and deliciously there. These days they run three direct-managed branches — Pusan National University, Gwangbok, and Dongnae.

Since it was a weekday there was no wait, but almost every table except one or two was full. On weekends waiting seems essential‼️ There's a menu board at the entrance, good for browsing before you go in. You'd think a Japanese restaurant inside a department store would be pricey, but it's actually reasonably priced 😉 About ₩50,000 for two is enough to eat well and fill up.

Inside Moshi Moshi Sushi Gwangbok: seating and baby chairs

The interior overall feels clean and upscale. There's a variety of seating types too — group tables, couple seats, counter seats. It's also fun watching the chef make sushi right at the table. I booked ahead through Naver and was shown to a reserved seat. The marble tables give it a really classy touch✨️✨️

The clean yet distinctly Japanese-style interior really stands out. They have baby chairs too, so it's good for eating with kids.

The menu is organized into set menus, platter menus, sushi, single-piece sushi, and noodle dishes.

  • 🎗Set menus — sushi + egg rice + noodles + salad and more, in various 2- to 4-person combinations, which seemed great for couples or families to share
  • 🎗Platter menus — a neat single-serving composition, which seemed good for coworkers or anyone wanting a clean individual meal
  • 🎗Dish menus — ramen, udon, soba, kids' sets, and more, which seemed great for eating together with kids who can't eat raw fish or with friends who don't

❤️What we ordered❤️ Set 1 / 10-piece salmon sushi

Basic table setting of salad and sesame-sauce tofu
Sesame-sauce tofu and vegetable salad side dishes

The basic table setting came out first‼️ Salad and sesame-sauce tofu, which was great for taking the edge off hunger. The soft tofu made my stomach feel comfortable right away. The salad was fresh too, and the sauce was exactly my style 💛

Table set with Set 1 and 10-piece salmon sushi together

While we were eating, our order came out fast! Set 1 and the 10-piece salmon sushi. So generous‼️‼️‼️😍 This quality for under ₩70,000, great👍👍👍 And it's a restaurant inside a department store, too 🙊 I really loved the quality and composition ❤️

What comes with Set 1: 16 pieces of sushi, soba and egg rice

Plate of 16-piece assorted sushi from Set 1

This is the 16-piece sushi that came with Set 1. Wow! The lineup was way better than I expected. Everything that came out was delicious ㅠㅠㅠㅠ The sushi types included salmon, live-fish, eel, shrimp, yukhoe (beef tartare), egg... even futomaki (thick seaweed roll)....ㄷㄷ This set sushi here is seriously great.........💛 Definitely order it‼️

Soba served as part of Set 1
Egg rice included in Set 1

On top of that there's soba and egg rice too.... two of us were seriously stuffed ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ🙊 Shall we go try each piece of sushi one by one⁉️ This moment of deciding what to eat first is so happy 💛

White fish and squid cut twice as long as the rice

Thickly cut white fish sushi

First I tried the light, clean white fish 🍣 Overall the fish slices were thick and long‼️ Picking one up, the fish is literally twice as long as the rice underneath....🙊 Almost long enough to fold in half and eat like a wrap..

Thick, chewy white fish sushi close-up

Not sure if it was squid or white fish, but the chewy, thick texture hit exactly my taste..⭐️ The texture of the fish filling my mouth was so good... With a little wasabi on top it was clean and light.

Two kinds of eel sushi, plus beef yukhoe and shrimp sushi

There are two kinds of eel sushi too‼️ The softly grilled eel with its slightly sweet sauce, eaten together with the rice, felt like eating a rice bowl. The eel meat was fluffy and moist, filling my mouth with happiness ✨️✨️ Chives were added too, giving it extra crunch and fragrance‼️ No fishy taste at all, plus a smoky char that added great depth👍

Yukhoe sushi topped with chives and sesame

The combination of fresh yukhoe, crunchy chives, and nutty sesame was great... the yukhoe sushi is so tasty...😉 The shrimp sushi also had a light smoky char that upped the depth‼️ The shrimp was moist and paired well with the sauce. I loved the way the shrimp burst in my mouth.

Red-fleshed tuna sushi

Tuna sushi..? A red-fleshed fish sushi that was nutty and soft.. No fishy taste, clean and light.

Salmon futomaki and egg sushi

The salmon-packed futomaki and egg sushi rounded out a generous lineup. Really good lineup for sharing with a kid‼️

The 10-piece salmon sushi platter: thick salmon and three tempura

Salmon sushi is our family's favorite! So we ordered it separately. It's a platter of 10 pieces of salmon + tofu salad + vegetable salad + tempura + soup! A clean, appetizing spread.

10-piece salmon sushi platter

The salmon is really thick, big, and fresh! You can just tell from the color of the salmon sushi. This place is truly the real deal.....⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Can you tell how big the salmon is⁉️ The salmon + onion sauce combo is honestly the best, I love it so much ㅠㅠㅠ The salmon is seriously soft, melting in your mouth. You have to try it....💛

Eating it clean with a dab of wasabi on top is also delicious... you can just feel how fresh the salmon is.. the color alone is insane ... ㅠ The nutty, soft flavor of the salmon spreading through my mouth..

The tempura on the side was great too....❤️ Super crispy, that traditional Japanese-restaurant tempura feel! Shrimp tempura, sweet potato tempura, kabocha squash tempura — three of us were seriously stuffed...🙊

Who should eat at Moshi Moshi Sushi Gwangbok in Nampo-dong?

It's a restaurant inside a department store, yet the prices are reasonable, and above all the fish on the sushi is incredibly fresh and thick. The sides are varied and the set composition is great too. I recommend it as a must-visit restaurant at Lotte Gwangbok in Nampo.
