Nampo sushi restaurant with white fish nigiri, kids' udon: Moshi Moshi

It's the Randy family, out in Nampo-dong again after a while. We watched a movie in the morning, had a delicious lunch, and in the evening did some kids' activities inside the department store.

Moshi Moshi is our favorite lunch spot around Nampo Station. It's a sushi restaurant in the Lotte Department Store dining hall, and honestly it feels like our longtime regular haunt. We came all the way to Nampo-dong because we were craving sushi again. Let's get into this review of Moshi Moshi, our go-to sushi place at Lotte Department Store Gwangbok.

Moshi Moshi Sushi Lotte Department Store Gwangbok is on the 10th floor dining hall of the main building, 2 Jungang-daero, Jung-gu, Busan, South Korea. It's open daily from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM, and offers group seating, takeout, separate men's/women's restrooms, reservations, high chairs, and parking. The lot-number address is 20-1 Jungang-dong 7-ga, Jung-gu, Busan.

It's located in the 10th floor dining hall of the main building at Lotte Department Store Gwangbok. Parking is available at the department store, and they offer parking support. Parking is usually the biggest worry when coming out to Nampo-dong, but we had plenty of time to eat, park, and wander around the neighborhood.

The restaurant a 7-year-old picks when he asks to "go somewhere nice"

Moshi Moshi is the sushi restaurant every Busan local knows haha!! The sushi is genuinely delicious, and it's a classy Japanese restaurant that's great to bring parents to. Our son is 7, and when he says "mom, let's go somewhere nice," he means Moshi Moshi.

We came to the department store early in the morning for a first-showing movie. Since we'd already watched a film, we had to have a good lunch too, right? The inside of Moshi Moshi is really spacious, so you can usually eat without a wait, which is nice. Naver Reservation is also available.

Why the sushi set is the order to get at Moshi Moshi Sushi

The sushi at Moshi Moshi is genuinely delicious. The set menu is well put together, so I recommend ordering a set. Our son always insists on udon whenever we go to a Japanese restaurant!! This is sushi you truly can't compare to the trendy conveyor-belt sushi spots or budget delivery sushi — real Nampo-area sushi quality.

The salad that comes with the meal at Moshi Moshi is also seriously classy and delicious. It's even better to cleanse your palate with the salad before diving into the sushi. Both the salad and the side dishes are great. They also have à la carte items, so if there's something specific you're craving you can order it separately. I remember coming here every payday to eat engawa (fluke fin meat)... guess I've made it in life, because here I am eating at Moshi Moshi even though it's not payday.

The aged white fish nigiri was the best part

The white fish nigiri was especially delicious — the fish itself was beautifully aged, and the menu lineup was great too. I'm personally not a big fan of salmon, and these days most sushi places just push salmon on you, don't they?

Every single piece of sushi was made with real care. Writing this review is making me want to eat it all over again hahahahahaha. I travel to Japan pretty often, and it's usually for sushi. That's how much I love sushi, and Moshi Moshi's sushi always satisfies me.

When I was younger, I'd save up money just to go to Moshi Moshi. For anniversaries, for birthdays — wasn't everyone like that? I still remember the first time I brought my husband, who's from Geoje, here — he said "wow, this place is amazing." And here we are again with that same husband today.

An atmosphere that works for lunch and for evening drinks

It's great for lunch, but it's also a wonderful sushi spot for a drink in the evening. Our parents love it, and it's great for gatherings with friends too. It's inside a department store dining hall, but the interior is classy enough to give it real atmosphere — a genuine Nampo-dong sushi restaurant.

One bowl of udon for the child, plus a kids' menu

Our 7-year-old, who genuinely doesn't eat rice at home, ate so well today — he really goes for the udon at Moshi Moshi. Their yaki udon is delicious, and the regular udon is great too. The shrimp tempura is also amazing, but... the men in our house have shrimp allergies, so I can't eat it either haha. There's a children's menu too, with a pork cutlet + udon combo. Our son loves udon so much he just went with a plain bowl of udon.

Oh, and they have char siu too. The char siu is delicious. We didn't order it today, but we always used to. Yaki udon, char siu, shrimp tempura. The sashimi is great too — it's the kind of atmospheric Japanese restaurant where you want a bite of sashimi, a sip of drink, a bite of sashimi, a sip of drink.

We ate well and left completely full. Next time we're in Nampo-dong, it's Moshi Moshi again!! A sushi restaurant that absolutely must never disappear — my beloved Moshi Moshi.
