When the cold wind starts blowing, the dish I crave is pho — soft noodles swimming in hot meat broth. This visit to Kkamon left me satisfied on multiple fronts. For anyone hunting for a real pho spot or still deciding where to eat, here's a detailed rundown of the pho, the Kkamon fried rice, and the cream shrimp I tried.

Where is Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store, and is there parking?
Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store is close enough to Jeongja Station to walk there. It was also convenient that the building had parking.

You could see the menu board even before entering the store — we were already deliberating what to order.

What is the restaurant like inside?
The moment you step through the door at Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store, you feel like you've been teleported to a hidden gem in a Hanoi alley. The vintage sign and exterior design grab your attention right away.

Stepping inside, the tables, chairs, and unique lighting recreate the look of an actual local Vietnamese eatery — it felt genuinely exotic.

The tableware and sauce containers on the table were kept neat and clean. The patterned bowls really gave off that Vietnamese local vibe.

There was also a free portable charger available to use.

The tables were spotlessly clean. We took a seat further inside.

The water cups were paper, which felt hygienic. There were two kinds of sauce set out on the table.

What we ordered at Kkamon, and what the self-bar offers
Looking over Kkamon's menu board, there was a wide variety of dishes. But the one thing you absolutely have to order is the pho.

We ordered three things: Kkamon pho, Kkamon fried rice, and cream shrimp. Ordering through the kiosk was convenient. After ordering, we grabbed a generous helping of onions for the pho from the self-bar.

We could also take as much pickled radish as we wanted, which made the meal easy and comfortable.

Kkamon pho: the brisket and the broth
I've been to plenty of pho restaurants around Bundang, but Kkamon's broth felt different. It's not a light broth — it's simmered for a long time with care, giving it a deep, concentrated meaty flavor.

Picking up the brisket with chopsticks, it was so thoroughly simmered it practically fell apart, and it had a wonderful texture in the mouth. There was no gamey smell at all — just the savory richness of good-quality meat, working beautifully with the noodles. Fresh scallions and onions were provided, adding a subtle fragrance to the broth. I started off eating the pho with no sauce, then tried adding the two sauces on the table.

How was the Kkamon fried rice?
We ordered the Kkamon fried rice because pho alone felt like it needed something more filling to go with it. Kkamon is known as a Bundang pho spot, but the fried rice quality was seriously impressive. From the moment it hit the table, the rich smoky aroma of the fried rice was mouthwatering.

It was nice that they served broth alongside it too. Every grain of rice was coated in seasoning and wok smoke, giving it a light, fluffy texture that was delicious. The generous amount of minced pork was salty-sweet and well seasoned. The crunch of the vegetables mixed in cut through any heaviness perfectly. A big spoonful was seriously filling.

Best side dish at Kkamon: the cream shrimp
If you're looking for a flashier side to go with the rice-and-noodles combo, I'd recommend Kkamon's cream shrimp. You might think, how good can cream shrimp really be at a Bundang pho place — but it was genuinely main-dish quality.

The plump shrimp were impressively large. Biting in, the crispy batter gave way to juicy, plump shrimp meat that filled the mouth — really satisfying. The batter was fried in clean oil, so it stayed light-colored and crisp, and it was genuinely delicious. The cream sauce could easily be heavy, but a bright touch of lemon juice cut through it perfectly for a refreshing finish. It would make a great drinking snack too.

Final verdict on Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store
Kkamon Bundang Jeongja Direct Store isn't just mimicking the look of Vietnamese food — you can tell they genuinely care about the quality and depth of flavor. The combination of the rich, deep brisket pho that warms you up on a chilly day, the fluffy Kkamon fried rice, and the sweet, crispy cream shrimp left a strong impression. With clean hygiene and friendly service on top of it all, I'd recommend this as a true Bundang pho spot~
